Automobile Service Technician – Maruti Suzuki

Job Summary

The Automobile Service Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Maruti Suzuki vehicles according to the company's service standards. The role requires delivering high-quality workmanship, ensuring customer satisfaction, and adhering to all safety and quality procedures.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform routine maintenance, including engine oil changes, filter replacements, brake inspections, wheel alignment, and tire rotation.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using diagnostic tools and service manuals.
- Repair and replace defective components, including engines, transmissions, suspension systems, steering systems, brakes, air conditioning systems, and electrical components.
- Carry out warranty repairs in accordance with Maruti Suzuki guidelines.
- Conduct pre-delivery inspections (PDI) for new vehicles.
- Perform road tests before and after repairs to verify vehicle performance.
- Maintain accurate service records and complete repair orders in a timely manner.
- Ensure all repairs meet Maruti Suzuki quality standards and workshop procedures.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with workplace safety regulations.
- Properly use and maintain workshop tools, equipment, and diagnostic instruments.
- Coordinate with Service Advisors to communicate technical findings and repair recommendations.
- Stay updated on new vehicle technologies, repair techniques, and service campaigns through regular training.

Required Qualifications

- ITI/Diploma in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.




- Certification in automobile servicing is an advantage.
- 2–5 years of experience in automobile service and repair (experience with Maruti Suzuki vehicles preferred).

- Strong understanding of automotive mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to use diagnostic scanners and workshop equipment.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
- Ability to read technical manuals and wiring diagrams.

- Positive communication and teamwork skills.
- Time management and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced workshop.

Working Conditions

- Full-time position based in an authorized Maruti Suzuki dealership or service center.
- Requires standing for extended periods and lifting automotive components when necessary.
- May require overtime during peak service periods.
