Vadapalani

Oversees the daily operations of the hospital's pharmacy department. They supervise pharmacy staff, manage inventory and budgets, and ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards. They also collaborate with doctors and nurses to optimize patient medication therapy.

Key Responsibilities

1. Daily Operations & Dispensing

- Oversee the safe and accurate dispensing, compounding, and distribution of medications to inpatient and outpatient units.
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure efficiency and patient safety.
- Manage automated dispensing cabinets (e.g., Pyxis, Omnicell) and maintain hospital protocols for controlled substances.

2. Staff Management & Leadership

- Recruit, train, schedule, and evaluate the performance of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff.
- Foster a collaborative environment and provide continuous education regarding new drugs and hospital policies.
- Delegate tasks appropriately and resolve workplace issues effectively.

3. Compliance & Safety

- Ensure the pharmacy complies with all state, federal, and local healthcare regulations (e.g., FDA, DEA, and State Board of Pharmacy guidelines).
- Lead quality assurance efforts, track medication errors, and participate in hospital performance and safety improvement initiatives.
- Oversee infection control standards and maintain compliance with accreditation bodies (e.g., The Joint Commission).

4. Inventory & Financial Management [1]

- Monitor pharmacy budgets, control departmental costs, and identify opportunities for revenue optimization.
- Oversee inventory control,



which includes tracking expiration dates, managing drug shortages, and overseeing cold-chain logistics.
- Coordinate vendor management and purchasing systems.

5. Clinical & Interdepartmental Collaboration [1]

- Work closely with physicians, nurses, and hospital administration to promote effective medication management.
- Serve on the hospital’s Pharmacy and Therapeutics (P&T;) Committee to manage the hospital drug formulary and evaluate new medications.
- Act as a clinical resource for complex medication queries.

Qualifications & Skills

- Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.Key Responsibilities1. Daily Operations & Dispensing [1]

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
