The Primary Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, child-centered instruction aligned with the ICSE curriculum for Grades I–V. The teacher will foster the academic, social, emotional, and creative development of students through innovative teaching methodologies, continuous assessment, and a safe, inclusive learning environment. The role also involves collaborating with parents and colleagues to ensure holistic student development.

Key Responsibilities1. Curriculum Planning & Teaching

- Plan and deliver lessons aligned with the ICSE curriculum.
- Teach core subjects including English, Mathematics, Environmental Studies (EVS), General Knowledge, and other assigned subjects.
- Develop annual, term, weekly, and daily lesson plans.
- Integrate activity-based, experiential, and inquiry-based learning strategies.
- Use ICT tools, smart boards, and digital resources to enhance classroom instruction.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.

2. Classroom Management

- Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom setting.
- Maintain discipline through positive behaviour management strategies.
- Promote student participation, collaboration, and independent learning.
- Ensure classroom safety and student well-being.
- Organize learning corners and display student work.

3. Student Assessment

- Conduct formative and summative assessments.
- Prepare worksheets, assignments, projects, and question papers.
- Evaluate student work and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Maintain student portfolios, assessment records, and progress reports.
- Identify learning gaps and implement remedial or enrichment plans.

4. Student Development

- Support students' academic, emotional, social, and moral development.
- Foster creativity, critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.




- Encourage reading habits and life skills.
- Identify students requiring additional academic or behavioural support and coordinate with school counsellors where required.

5. Parent Communication

- Maintain regular communication with parents regarding academic progress and behaviour.
- Conduct Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs).
- Provide strategies for supporting learning at home.
- Respond promptly and professionally to parent concerns.

6. Co-curricular Responsibilities

- Organize and participate in assemblies, celebrations, competitions, excursions, and school events.
- Encourage participation in literary, cultural, artistic, and sports activities.
- Support clubs and enrichment programs.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in any discipline.
- B.Ed. or D.El.Ed. (Mandatory).
- Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience in an ICSE school (preferred).
- Strong understanding of child psychology and primary education pedagogy.
- Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken).
