JOB INFORMATION Job Title Name Senior - Systems Engineer- Storage (Commvault) HCA Grade / Level Senior Job Purpose Provide technical skills that cover a broad range of disciplines and/or a particular technical discipline that is of significance to HCA , particularly relating to using Commvault for data protection solution design, engineering, delivery, and administration. Perform any technical project assignment with minimal supervision. Identify, investigate, evaluate and become proficient in new technologies and technical disciplines that are of significance to HCA Healthcares protection using Commvault.nnnExtraordinary analytical and design ability, extremely high degree of creativity; in depth knowledge of the business implications of technical approaches, directions and solutions, ability to achieve results, advanced project planning and coordination skills, superior communication skills, success in subordinate positions. A Commvault Senior Engineer Data Protection will be responsible for providing engineering, administration, analysis, trending, and reporting of all supported configurations using the Commvault application on a basis.nnnPrimary duties will include usage of the Commvault application, ability to ensure proper daily backups, ability to restore backup when requested and deploy application specific protection for the different unique solutions like (SQL, SharePoint u0026 Oracle). Networking abilities is also required to manage complicated VLAN and tagging setup for the Media Agents. Specific knowledge of different application usage and incorporate appropriate Commvault agents with those applications and databases (Oracle, SQL u0026 Epic etc.).nnnAbility to troubleshoot issues associated with failed backups and automation to avoid recurrence of similar issues.



A solid understanding of the underlying OS (Operating System) with all the advanced knowledge of different protocols and transportation would be an advantage with the work. Ability to install, troubleshoot and configure standard OS modules or add-ons.nnnThe Sr, Commvault Engineer will require cross-platform knowledge and expertise, the candidate should expect a primary focus in technologies including Commvault, Zerto, Basic Storage knowledge, TCPIP, Windows and / or Linux Operating systems and basic enterprise core applications.nnnMajor Responsibilities And Accountabilities The following are highlighted competencies and core expectations for the job/role: In Depth working knowledge of the systems / platforms mentioned above but especially CommvaultnnnCommunication, interpersonal skills to effectively work in a group settingnnnAttention to Detail is criticalnnnWorking on any implementation is a plus.nnnSelf-driven to learn innovative technologies.nnnMust have knowledge on performance optimizations to improve backup performances.nnnAnalyze health checks for the setting: Provide ongoing holistic view of the CommCell health to management including recommendations to address concerns as needed. Troubleshoot day to day operations to include client connectivity, backup/restore failures, as well as Media Agent/Library issues.nnnPreparing SOPs as and when required.



Tracking long pending issues and working closely with team for quick resolution. Building new Commvault environment, Installing and configuring Commserve, Media agent, Clients.nnnSupport: Support emergency issues such as a Commserve or Media Agent failure in a timely manner (reducing the likelihood of missing backups or significant delays with a restore).nnnProvide regular guidance: Guidance for CommCell resiliency to include reducing points of failure, and Disaster Recovery operations. If possible, perform ongoing testing and validation of recommended solutions.nnnLead Day to Day troubleshooting of process and backup failures, including software and hardware technology issues.nnnParticipation in after-hours support - on-call rotation.nnnParticipate in Day-to-Day troubleshooting of process and backup failures, including software and hardware technology issues.nnnUse Automation tools to streamline processes u0026 Creation of scripts to resolve reoccurring issues.
