Role Overview:The Lead Data Scientist at Bread Financial is responsible for delivering data-driven insights using advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to support enterprise data science needs. You will be tasked with researching state-of-the-art advanced analytics techniques to enhance the competence of the Data Science team within the analytics industry. Additionally, you will lead the design and innovation of market differentiators within the team, working autonomously on projects and potentially mentoring and onboarding other data scientists.Key Responsibilities:- Create machine-learning based tools and processes for data mining and analytics, extending data with third-party sources when necessary.- Translate business problems into statistical problems, develop machine learning models, and perform customized analysis to address business needs.- Contribute to extracting and sampling data, conducting data integrity checks, and preprocessing data (e.g., treatment of missing values, outliers).- Conduct exploratory data analysis to drive the selection of modeling approaches.- Utilize unsupervised learning techniques such as clustering analysis and factor analysis to reveal hidden data patterns.- Engage in feature engineering to create model predictors with strong predictive power and train classification/regression models using supervised learning techniques.- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of solutions.- Develop foundational knowledge of various industries while collaborating with other data scientists to share best practices and innovations.- Manage and coach the team to ensure delivery excellence, sustainability,
