Job Description

5+ years of experience in SQL Server Database Administration.

Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.

Work location - Pune

Strong hands-on expertise with Azure SQL Database, Managed Instance, Hyperscale.

Deep knowledge of HA/DR, performance tuning, and security.

Experience with Azure networking (Private Endpoints, VNets).

Deeps understanding of SQL performance tuning

Experience supporting mission-critical, enterprise-scale systems.

Strong Scripting/automation Skills (PowerShell /Python Preferred).

knowledge on AI tools/Agents is plus

Experience handling tools such as Redgate, Datadog etc.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

Depth understanding of SQL Server Architecture, SQL best practices in both on premise and cloud environments

Experience with a cloud platform is must - Azure.

Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.

Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams.

Owning, tracking and resolving database related incidents and requests, within MTTR.

Proactive monitoring to ensure service-related issues are identified and resolved within established SLAs.

Experience with performance tuning and optimization, using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.

Experience with SQL Always on High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options.

Experience in implementing operational automation with PowerShell is a plus.

Knowledge of SQL Server Database internals, index management and statistics.

Experience handling tools such as Redgate,



Datadog etc.

Experience with performance tuning and optimization, using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.

Lead database migration and modernization initiatives to Azure.

Drive automation and DevOps using PowerShell, Azure Automation, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.

Implement monitoring, alerting, and lead root cause analysis (RCA).

Optimize Azure SQL costs using right-sizing, elastic pools, and reserved capacity.

Adopt AI tools /Agents/third party tools for DB operations

Lead cross-functional collaboration and maintain SOP documentation to enhance process standardization

Adopt current changes and related technologies quickly

Have excellent communication and documentation skills.

Qualifications

SQL Server Database Administration, 5+ Years exp.

Azure certifications (Azure Database Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect).

Experience working with FinOps and cloud cost governance.

Experience supporting mission-critical, high-availability systems.
