As Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within Consumer and Community Banking team, you will help ensure our digital products are accessible, inclusive, and compliant with ADA, Section 508, and WCAG 2.1 AA.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensiveaccessibility testingfor web and mobile applications usingmanual techniquesand industry-standard tools (e.g., axe, WAVE, JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack).
- Validate user experiences withassistive technologies, including screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, magnification, and alternative input devices.
- Reviewdesigns, user stories, and requirementsearly in the lifecycle and provide actionable accessibility feedback to Product and Design.
- Document accessibility defects with transparent reproduction steps, WCAG mapping where applicable, severity/impact, and recommended fixes verify remediation with Engineering.
- Partner with developers to troubleshoot issues and confirm fixes meetWCAG 2.1 AAexpectations without introducing regressions.
- Build and maintainautomated accessibility and UI test coverage(e.g., Selenium/Cypress/Playwright/Appium or equivalent), supporting shift-left quality and repeatable validation.
- Participate in accessibility reviews/audits and support evidence collection for compliance reporting as needed.
- Contribute to accessibility testing standards, playbooks, and reusable test assets identify process improvements that increase coverage and speed.
- Support UAT and production readiness validation for accessibility-sensitive releases.
- Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation),
while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards contributes learnings and reusable patterns to improve broader team effectiveness.
- Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 3+ years of experience inaccessibility/ADA testingfor web and/or mobile applications.
- Strong knowledge ofADA, Section 508, and WCAG 2.1 Level AAstandards and guidelines.
- Hands-on experience with assistive technologies (e.g.,JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack, magnifiers, alternative input devices).
- Proficiency with accessibility testing tools (e.g.,axe, WAVE) and ability to interpret findings beyond tool output.
- Strongtest automation skills, including building/maintaining automated UI tests and incorporating accessibility checks into automated test suites.
- Familiarity with Agile practices and working in cross-functional teams.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- IAAP CPACCand/orWAScertification.
- Web fundamentals (plus):HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ARIA
- Experience with automated accessibility testing frameworks (e.g.,axe-core integrations) and building reusable automation patterns.
- Experience training or mentoring others on accessibility best practices.
- Working knowledge ofHTML, CSS, JavaScript, and ARIA(ability to pinpoint root cause and advise on remediation patterns).
- Experience operating in regulated environments and handling sensitive data appropriately (PCI familiarity is a plus, if applicable).
