Job Summary:

We are seeking a high-impact, strategic leader to drive government affairs, and policy
advocacy for Attero. This role goes beyond traditional stakeholder management and
focuses on developing good relationships with the government and relevant ministries
and departments, shaping regulatory frameworks, unlocking new business
opportunities through the networks which develop, and positioning Attero as a thought
leader in the global circular economy and critical materials ecosystem.

The Associate Director will work closely with the head of strategic initiatives and the
leadership to influence national and international policy, enable market creation (EPR,
recycling mandates, critical minerals strategy), and build long-term partnerships across
government, industry, and multilateral institutions.

Key Responsibilities:

- 1. Government Relations & Strategic Stakeholder Engagement

Build and manage high-trust relationships with key stakeholders across:

-

Central ministries (MoEFCC, MeitY, Ministry of Mines, MHI, NITI Aayog, etc.)

-

State governments and pollution control boards

-

Industry associations and associated institutions

-

Multilateral agencies and international bodies

-

Act as a strategic interface between Attero and policymakers, not just a relationship manager

-

Shape government thinking on e-waste, battery recycling, critical materials, and circular economy

-

Represent Attero in high-impact forums, policy consultations, and industry bodies

2. Policy Advocacy & Market Shaping

Lead the design and execution of policy advocacy strategies that directly unlock revenue, funding and growth opportunities

-

Drive engagement on:

-

EPR frameworks (design, pricing, enforcement)

-

Battery recycling regulations

-

Critical minerals and supply chain resilience

-

Urban mining and circular economy policies

-

Influence the development of PLI, VGF, Grants, and other funding schemes

-

Develop white papers, concept notes, regulatory submissions, and consultation responses

-

Anticipate regulatory shifts and proactively position Attero ahead of the curve

3. Strategic Initiatives & New Market Development

Identify and drive policy-led business opportunities (e.g., national collection frameworks, incentive schemes, subsidies)

-

Work on cross-sector initiatives such as:

Urban mining infrastructure

National e-waste collection systems

-

Circular economy financing mechanisms

-

Partner with consulting firms, think tanks, and global organizations to co-create initiatives

4. Grants, Incentives & Institutional Funding

Identify and secure:

Government incentives (PLI, subsidies, state incentives)

Multilateral and climate-linked funding opportunities

-

Lead end-to-end execution:

Opportunity identification

Proposal development

-

Stakeholder engagement

Compliance and reporting

Align funding strategies with Attero’s capex, R&D;, and expansion roadmap

5. Cross-Functional Leadership & Internal Alignment

Act as a bridge between policy and business teams (recycling, EPR, ITAD, metals, operations, R&D;, finance)

Translate regulatory developments into clear business implications and action plans

Advise leadership on risk, prospect, and strategic positioning

-

Build internal capability through structured updates and training on policy developments

6. Thought Leadership & Industry Positioning

Position Attero as a global leader in recycling and critical materials

-

Drive participation in:

-

Global forums (WEF-type engagements, sustainability platforms)

-

Industry associations and policy councils

-

Contribute to public narratives on sustainability, circular economy, and resource security

Qualifications:

-

Bachelor’s/Master’s in Public Policy, Economics, Engineering, Business, or related field (advanced degree preferred)

-

10-12 years of experience in government affairs, policy, consulting, or regulatory strategy

-

Experience in sectors such as:

-

Sustainability / Circular Economy

-

Energy / EV / Batteries

-

Metals / Mining / Materials

-

Technology or manufacturing policy

-

Demonstrated ability to influence policy outcomes or regulatory frameworks

Experience working with government, consulting firms, or industry bodies

Demonstrated relationships with senior government officials including Ministers, Secretaries, Joint Secretaries

Excellent communication, negotiation,



and interpersonal skills.

Experience in securing and managing grants for technology and sustainability initiatives is highly desirable.
