JOB DESCRIPTION — SYRUP ROOM OPERATOR
1, PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Job Context:
A Syrup Room Operator is responsible for the daily preparation, blending, and batching of beverage syrups in strict accordance with quality standards, recipe formulations, and safety guidelines. The day-to-day duties involve handling raw ingredients, operating automated and manual batching equipment, and maintaining high standards of sanitation in the syrup processing area.
Challenges:
• Ensuring exact adherence to PepsiCo recipe formulations and standard operating procedures to eliminate batch variations.
• Managing tight operational schedules to meet continuous production line demands while strictly maintaining food safety and CIP (Clean-In-Place) standards.

Accountabilities
Scope of work
Syrup Availability as per Plan 100%
Prepare the syrup batches as per schedule within time frame to avoid line starvation. Follow the Syrup Testing Schedule & maintain the Specification as per norms.
Brix & Physio-Chemical Compliance 100%
Maintain the Brix, Yield, Temperature & Physio Chemical Parameters as per PepsiCo Guideline. Conduct CIP/SIP as per Schedule.
Ingredient & Water Quality Score 100%
Monitor Water and Syrup Quality Specifications as per PepsiCo Guidelines during batching operations.
Sugar Delta 0.2 %
Monitor & Maintain the Sugar Delta as per Target in each Batch. Accurately record raw material usage.
No Unsatisfactory & Minimum Mandate Failure in AIB Audit
Maintain the Sanitary & Hygienic condition of the Processing area to achieve Micro Results.
QAS audit Score 98 / FSMS Compliance
Maintain the Process and documentation as per AIB (Food Safety), QAS, and FSMS requirements with no major findings.

Responsibilities
- Prepare syrup batches as per the schedule to ensure continuous production line operations.
- Adhere strictly to PepsiCo recipe formulations and standard operating procedures to maintain batch consistency.
- Monitor and maintain Brix, yield, temperature, and physio-chemical parameters as per PepsiCo guidelines.
- Execute Clean-In-Place (CIP) and Sterilize-In-Place (SIP) protocols as per the scheduled maintenance plan.
- Maintain water and syrup quality specifications during batching operations, ensuring they meet PepsiCo standards.
- Accurately record raw material usage and monitor sugar delta to ensure it meets the target in each batch.
- Maintain a sanitary and hygienic processing area to achieve satisfactory micro results in audits.
- Ensure the process and documentation comply with AIB (Food Safety), QAS, and FSMS requirements.
- Interface with various internal teams, including Quality Control, Production Line Operators, and Warehouse staff.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of syrup preparation and blending activities.
Qualifications
- B.Sc. or ITI (Fitter/Machinist) degree or equivalent qualification.
- Food Safety/HACCP Certification or CIP Operational Training is preferred.
- 2-5 years of experience in syrup preparation, batching, and the beverage processing industry, with a preference for PepsiCo/Coca-Cola ecosystem experience.
- Proven ability to operate syrup batching tanks and handle chemicals safely.
- Strong knowledge of CIP/SIP protocols and team-working skills in a high-speed beverage bottling setting.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet daily production targets with attention to detail.
- Excellent operational discipline, time management skills, and reliability.
- Good coordination and interpersonal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of food safety guidelines and sanitation practices.
- Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new industry standards and practices.
