Job Summary A Restaurant Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the restaurant and service areas supporting the service team and ensuring that dishes cutlery and glassware are clean organized and available for smooth restaurant operations The role is key in creating a clean safe and presentable environment for guests and staff Key Responsibilities1 Cleaning Hygiene Wash clean and polish dishes cutlery glassware trays and other service equipment Ensure restaurant tables service stations and floors are clean and organized Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment counters and back-of-house areas as needed Follow hygiene sanitation and food safety standards HACCP compliance 2 Support to Service Team Assist servers and restaurant staff in carrying dishes clearing tables and setting up stations Help in arranging banquet or special event setups when required Refill service stations with condiments napkins and other essentials 3 Equipment Inventory Handling Maintain proper storage and handling of cleaned items Report damaged or missing items to the supervisor Assist in maintaining cleaning supplies and inventory 4 Waste Management Collect and dispose of garbage in designated bins Ensure segregation of waste recyclable organic general as per hotel restaurant policies Maintain cleanliness around waste disposal areas 5 Compliance Safety Follow all safety guidelines while handling cleaning chemicals machines or hot utensils Adhere to restaurant SOPs hygiene and grooming standards Assist in maintaining fire and safety standards in dining and service areas Skills Qualifications Prior experience as a steward in restaurants or hotels is preferred but not mandatory Basic understanding of cleanliness hygiene and kitchen etiquette Ability to work in a rapid-paced environment Physically fit to handle prolonged standing lifting and manual work Team player with good communication skills Behavioral Competencies Punctual disciplined and reliable Hardworking and proactive Attention to detail and cleanliness Cooperative and supportive to the service team Professional attitude and good grooming Job Type Full-time
