Job Summary The Eye Counsellor plays a crucial role in guiding patients through the process of diagnosis treatment and surgical procedures related to eye care This position requires a compassionate well-informed individual who can clearly explain eye conditions procedures like cataract or LASIK surgery and post-operative care to patients and their families Key Responsibilities Educate patients on various eye conditions treatments and surgical procedures Assist patients in understanding the need for surgery or treatment as advised by the ophthalmologist Guide patients through the treatment and surgical scheduling process Provide pre- and post-operative counselling and instructions Address patient concerns with empathy and clarity Maintain accurate records of patient interactions and counselling notes Support in the coordination of community outreach eye camps or screening events Collaborate with optometrists ophthalmologists and administrative staff for holistic patient care Qualifications Skills qualification optometry Certification in patient counselling or ophthalmic assistant training is a plus 2 years of experience in a hospital clinic or eye care setting preferred Solid communication and interpersonal skills Ability to speak local languages is highly desirable Basic knowledge of eye conditions like cataract glaucoma refractive errors etc Job Types Full-time Permanent Pay 25 000 00 - 30 000 00 per month Work Location In person
