PD P work produce drawings and documentation and prepare design estimates for a project You will coordinate with clients facilitate technical discussions and review and approve drawings calculations and bid summaries You will solve complex technical issues and ensure PD P designs comply with all regulations and standards Major Responsibilities Evaluates selects and applies standard engineering methods techniques procedures and criteria using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications Requires a basic knowledge of design and drafting techniques engineering drawings graphic arts 2-D and 3-D CAD reading of drawings and reproduction methods used by the discipline Directly performs the work of designers and drafters of a design group for a business line technology This work includes the preparation of layouts study drawings detailed 3-D Design models and 2-D construction drawings Prepares design and drafting procedures to standardize design effort Coordinates or makes jobsite visits as required to resolve problems and interpret drawings and documents Reviews or defines engineering scope changes as required for project management Endorses or prepares reports of work progress as required for project and discipline use Supports the creation of a work environment that fosters openness trust communication teamwork empowerment innovation and satisfaction Participates in one or more of the following Equipment layout design and development System layout design including concept sketches and detailed layouts Reviewing and checking designs drawings and data by other engineers or by suppliers Preparation or review of engineering studies and reports Preparation or review of material quantity estimates Uses engineering computer aided design computer aided engineering SP3D PLANT 3D REVIT etc tools Reviews design documents of equipment manufacturers or subcontractors of a moderate degree of complexity and prepares comments and recommendations Assists in preparation of forecasts quantity take-offs and change orders Understands roles played by other disciplines on the project Contacts counterpart in other disciplines supplier client representatives and project field personnel when directed to either gather or give information Education and Experience Requirements A recognized diploma course in an engineering or scientific discipline with extensive experience in piping layout design and drafting Experience Level Minimum of 13 years of working as Piping Designer Experience of working on OG C Semiconductor Data Center or Power projects will be an additional advantage Basic skill in oral and written communication Required Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of the application of engineering and construction materials related to the discipline s design responsibilities Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards design criteria and codes relevant to the discipline Knowledge of discipline Design Guides mathematical formulae and design calculations used in the discipline Knowledge of 3D 2D tools as applicable to the specific discipline work Working experience on SP3D is mandatory The above is normally acquired through Specialized courses in drafting design and engineering practices and CAD OR Application of computer aided engineering CAE computer aided design CAD tools to engineering problems Technical knowledge of engineering
