Job Title Quality Manager Woven Garments Location Chennai Reports To General Manager Employment Type Full time Permanent Salary 80 000 - 1 00 000 per month negotiable based on experience expertise export exposure Job Summary The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing and driving all quality assurance and quality control functions in woven garment manufacturing This role ensures that products meet global buyer standards reduces defects and rework leads quality teams implements continuous improvement and works cross functionally to maintain customer satisfaction and compliance Key Responsibilities Quality System Standards Implement maintain and improve quality systems QA QC to meet buyer standards EU US Japan etc compliance OEKO TEX BSCI WRAP Sedex etc Ensure adherence to SOPs technical packages specifications and line check finishing check standards Inspection Testing Oversee fabric incoming inspections in process quality checks end line finishing checks final pre shipment inspections Use AQL statistical sampling methods defect tracking quality metrics Team Leadership Development Lead train mentor the quality department QC supervisors inspectors line auditors Build capability in root cause analysis corrective preventive action CAPA and continuous improvement tools Customer Buyer Interaction Interface with buyers third party inspectors when required handle buyer audits and ensure corrective actions Manage customer complaints returns and quality non conformances ensure timely resolution and preventive measures Process Improvement Cost Control Drive continuous improvement initiatives reduce defect rates rejects rework waste Monitor process capability yield first pass yield Partner with production planning merchandising and supply chain to ensure quality considerations are embedded Documentation Compliance Maintain quality records reports inspection reports deviation reports QC dashboards Ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements if exporting safety chemical limits labelling etc KPIs Performance Monitoring Define monitor and report KPIs such as defect density rejection rate customer returns audit scores first pass yield etc Conduct periodic audits internally ensure continuous compliance with buyer and regulatory standards Required Qualifications Experience Bachelor s degree in Textile Engineering Apparel Technology Garment Technology related field Preferably additional certifications Six Sigma TRIZ Lean ISO WRAP BSCI auditors etc Experience 15 25 years of overall experience in woven garment manufacturing quality functions At least 5 years in a senior leadership role Manager AGM level preferably in export houses dealing with international buyers Strong exposure to quality at all stages fabric trims in process finishing shipment Skills Competencies Deep knowledge of woven fabric properties garment construction finishing processes etc Strong analytical skills ability to use quality tools e g 8D Fishbone Pareto SPC etc Good communication skills English and local language ability to liaise with buyers vendors internal teams Leadership people management skills ability to drive change and continuous improvement Computer literate Excel PowerPoint QC systems ability to generate dashboards reports Key Performance Indicators KPIs of shipments accepted by buyers first time Defect rate per 100 garments per million stitches etc Customer complaints returns cost due to quality issues Rate of rework wastage due to quality deficiencies Audit score buyer audits compliance audits Corrective actions closed in time Job Types Full time Permanent Pay 80 000 00 - 100 000 00 per month Work Location In person
