Senior Data Engineer SAP BW / HANA

Location : Bangalore

Experience : 7 to 12 yrs

This role is responsible for the continuous improvement, stability, and modernization of our SAP BW on HANA platform, which delivers Finance and Commercial reporting worldwide. In addition to supporting the existing BW on HANA workplace, this role partners closely with global data engineering and architecture teams to ingest and integrate data into the Enterprise Data Lake, prepare the organization for S/4HANA transformation, and support the long-term migration of analytical content from SAP BW to Databricks.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, enhance, and support SAP BW on HANA objects, including InfoProviders, ADSOs, CompositeProviders, transformations, and process chains
- Optimize BW on HANA models and queries for performance, scalability, and data quality
- Partner with SAP architects and functional teams to support S/4HANA analytics strategy

You Have :

- Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Systems,



or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with SAP BW on HANA, supporting production enterprise reporting
- Strong experience with SAP ECC data extraction using BW extractors, SLT, or SAP Data Services
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and enterprise reporting
- Experience supporting Finance, Commercial, and related data domains
- Strong SQL skills and experience analyzing data issues across large datasets

Preferred / Nice To Have :

- Exposure to SAP S/4HANA analytics or S/4HANA transformation programs
- Experience integrating SAP data into cloud data lakes
- Hands-on or foundational experience with Databricks, Spark, or Azure data services
- Familiarity with modern ELT/ETL tools and data orchestration frameworks
- Experience working in a Global Capability Center (GCC) or offshore delivery model
