Role & responsibilities

- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the Australian Curriculum.

- Teach reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, vocabulary, and literature.

- Develop students' critical thinking, communication, and creative writing skills.

- Assess, monitor, and record student progress using a variety of assessment methods.

- Provide constructive feedback to support academic growth and improve learning outcomes.

- Create an inclusive, positive, and student-centred classroom environment.

- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.

- Integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies into classroom instruction.

- Prepare lesson plans, assignments, examinations, and learning resources.

- Maintain accurate student records, attendance, and academic reports.

- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and behaviour.

- Participate in staff meetings, professional development programmes, and school events.

- Support extracurricular activities, literary clubs, debates, and school functions.

- Ensure compliance with school policies, safeguarding requirements,



and Australian educational standards.

Preferred candidate profile

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in English, English Literature, or a related field.

- B.Ed. or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

- Minimum 25 years of teaching experience, preferably in an Australian Curriculum or international school.

- Strong knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and contemporary teaching methodologies.

- Excellent command of written and spoken English.

- Ability to develop engaging lesson plans and effective classroom management strategies.

- Robust communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.

- Proficient in using educational technology and Learning Management Systems (LMS).

- Passionate about student development and continuous professional learning.

- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and school leadership.

- Experience in preparing students for Australian assessment standards will be an added advantage.

- Valid teaching licence/certification (where applicable) is preferred.
