Responsibilities include interpreting technical drawings, writing or editing G&M; codes, adjusting tool offsets, and inspecting finished components for quality assurance. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Key Responsibilities
- Programming: Create and edit 2D/3D CNC programs using G-code, M-code, or CAD/CAM software (like Unigraphics or Solid Edge) based on part blueprints. [1, 2]
- Machine Setup: Secure raw materials, install cutting tools, set work coordinates, and establish tool offsets for precision machining. [1, 2, 3]
- Operation & Monitoring: Regulate machining parameters—such as feed rates, spindle speeds, and coolant flow—while closely monitoring the machine during operation. [1, 2]
- Quality Control:
Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments like micrometers, Vernier calipers, and height gauges. [1, 2]
