About HypeMatter HypeMatter is a viral content agency that creates organic, original, and high-performing content for brands, clubs, cafes, and youth-focused businesses. We don’t make boring corporate content. We create funny, trend-native, meme-aware Instagram reels, UGC-style videos, scripted content, employee-led content, food and beverage edits, and brand stories that feel like internet culture.

We are now hiring a Video Editor who understands reels, memes, hooks, pacing, storytelling, and what makes people stop scrolling.

About The Role This is not a basic cutting and trimming role. We are looking for someone who can take raw footage and turn it into sharp, funny, viral-style Instagram reels. You should understand how to build a story, where to add pauses, where to cut fast, where to use text, where to use memes, where to add sound effects, and how to make a reel feel entertaining from the first second.

You will work closely with our creative team, directors, scriptwriters, and founders to edit reels for clubs, cafes, lifestyle brands, apps, and youth-focused businesses.

Responsibilities Edit Instagram reels, short-form videos, UGC videos, scripted skits, meme-led content, F&B; content, and brand videos

Create fast-paced, engaging edits that hold attention

Understand hooks, retention, pacing, timing, punchlines, and visual rhythm

Add captions, subtitles, motion text, memes, sound effects, transitions, and music tastefully

Visualize the storyline from raw footage and structure it into a strong final reel

Turn simple footage into funny, relatable, and shareable content





Work with scripts and creative briefs to match the intended idea

Suggest improvements in edit, flow, punchline timing, music, and visual style

Stay updated with Instagram trends, meme formats, reels, creator content, and Gen Z humour

Use AI tools wherever useful for editing, ideation, captioning, audio cleanup, references, or faster workflows

Coordinate with content directors and creative strategists to make sure the final output matches the brand and concept

Deliver edits on time and manage multiple client projects

Who We’re Looking For Someone who is obsessed with Instagram reels and short-form content

Strong sense of humour, meme culture, and internet language

Excellent understanding of pacing, cuts, transitions, hooks, and retention

Ability to make edits feel funny, modern, and non-boring

Strong storytelling sense: you should know how to build a reel from start to payoff

Good eye for captions, typography, sound effects, music, and visual timing

Can understand brand tone and edit accordingly

Can handle feedback and make revisions quickly

Fast, reliable, detail-oriented, and creatively sharp

Bonus if you understand clubs, cafes, nightlife, youth brands, fashion, food, and lifestyle content
