Job Type - Contractual up to 2 years. Extendable on the basis of performance.

Job Objective To manage large Data Centre deployment & operations including all IT and Non-IT infrastructure.

Primary Responsibilities of the Role

Job Role Pointers

1. Track the benefits of cloud migrations and report them regularly to senior leadership.
2. Ensure Data Center Security, Service availability, Capacity infrastructure and Standards.
3. Work with state government departments to gauge and create demand of strategic solutions and fulfill the same. Must have the ability to reach out and work with senior government officials in various departments.
4. Manage implementation of identified projects based on broad and detailed knowledge of current and emerging technologies and provide technical input into projects undertaken.
5. Advise and inform management, departments, and members on technical & operational issues as part of the decision-making process.
6. Liaise with external suppliers and support agencies for the ongoing support and maintenance of relevant hardware and software, ensuring that all work and changes are performed in a manner that minimizes disruption to the existing environment.
7. Be responsible for effective resource management; System & Resource planning based on requirements forecast and serve as the single point of contact for managerial responsibilities and direct interface with DCO.
8. Demonstrate capabilities in team management, capacity planning and process documentation.

Initiate corrective action against any identified delays, shortages, ambiguities, or other problems.
10. Create & review plans, policies, procedures and processes.
11. Ensure risk management & escalation to higher levels for mitigation.
12. Ensure that a business continuity plan is in place so that IT services can recover and continue in the event of failure.
13. Coordinate with TPA (Third Party Auditor), DCO (Data Center Operator) & other stakeholders to ensure timely completion of audits and resolution of observations, if any. Maintain continuous coordination with vendors for troubleshooting and resolving issues related to the Data Center for providing efficient and uninterrupted services to user departments.
14. Actively support all user departments in resolving their technical and non-technical queries.
15. Ensure sufficient storage capacity, archiving, backup and recovery procedures for uninterrupted functioning of the IT infrastructure.
16. Work closely with IT & Non-IT members of the SDC team, DCO & other stakeholders.
17. Manage policies related to hardware and software requirements, including supervising security audit requirements.
18. Manage proper documentation related to the SDC.

Perform any other IT consultancy/advisory services as may be required by the authorities.

Candidate Profile Details

Essential Criteria

Education

- BE / B.Tech
- OR
- PG in IT / CS or equivalent

Experience

- Minimum 15 years of experience with at least 8 years' experience in managing and implementing large Data Center projects as Team Lead, Tech Lead or Project Manager.

Technical Skills

- Solid technical skills in Networking, Linux, Windows, VMware and Hyper-V.
- Knowledge of security & service standards such as ISO 27001 & ISO 20000.
- Strong understanding and experience in infrastructure architecture and exposure to information security models, information systems, networks, SAN, virtualization, and traditional Data Center technologies.

Certifications

- ITIL / PRINCE2 / PMP
- Technical Certification: CCNP or equivalent with verifiable and valid OEM-related certifications on Storage/Cloud.

Desirable Skills & Experience

- Recent experience with enterprise customers in creating, managing and executing cloud-related communication plans for the technology industry.
- Deep knowledge of IT infrastructure domains such as server platforms, storage server platforms, server components, network devices, and IT service delivery.
- Experience with system management platforms and service management solutions.
- Knowledge and practical understanding of ITIL processes in line with Data Center environments.
- Knowledge and practical understanding of IT Security Architecture.
- Knowledge and practical understanding of Cloud Services such as IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
