Job Summary The Hardware Service Engineer is responsible for installation, diagnosis, troubleshooting, repair, preventive maintenance, and support of laptops, desktops, printers, scanners, and related IT peripherals at customer locations or service centers. The engineer must ensure timely issue resolution while maintaining high customer satisfaction and adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs).

Key Responsibilities

Hardware Support

- Diagnose and repair desktop and laptop hardware issues.

- Replace faulty components such as:

- Motherboards

- RAM

- HDD/SSD

- SMPS

- Keyboards

- LCD/LED panels

- Batteries

- Cooling fans

- Hinges and related components

- Perform preventive maintenance of IT equipment.

Printer & Scanner Support

- Install, configure, and troubleshoot:

- Laser printers

- Inkjet printers

- Multifunction printers (MFPs)

- Flatbed and document scanners

- Replace consumables and spare parts where applicable.

- Diagnose paper jams, print-quality issues, connectivity problems, and scanner errors.

Software & Operating System Support

- Install and configure Windows operating systems.

- Install device drivers and application software.

- Perform OS formatting, backup, restoration, and recovery.

- Configure antivirus software and apply Windows updates.

Networking Support

- Configure LAN connectivity.

- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues.

- Configure printers over USB and network.

- Support basic Wi-Fi connectivity.
