About the Role:
Reporting to the General Manager Operations, the Supply Chain & Import Manager will be responsible for managing end-to-end supply chain operations, ensuring timely shipment execution, regulatory compliance, and seamless coordination with suppliers, logistics partners, customs authorities, and internal stakeholders. The role focuses on driving operational efficiency, minimizing supply chain risks, and supporting business growth through effective planning, execution, and continuous process improvement.
Role Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for:
- Manage end-to-end supply chain operations from purchase order to final delivery.
- Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, Customs House Agents (CHAs), and logistics partners to ensure timely shipment execution.
- Prepare, review, and verify documentation including Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Bills of Lading, Bills of Entry, Certificates of Origin, and other shipping documents.
- Ensure compliance with Customs regulations, DGFT guidelines, and statutory requirements.
- Track shipments, monitor delivery schedules,
and proactively resolve operational or documentation-related issues.
- Coordinate with Finance, Procurement, Warehouse, and Sales teams to ensure smooth execution of supply chain activities.
- Maintain accurate shipment records, MIS reports, and compliance documentation for audits and internal reporting.
- Liaise with customs authorities, government agencies, and logistics service providers to facilitate timely customs clearance.
- Monitor freight costs, shipment timelines, and vendor performance to improve operational efficiency.
- Drive continuous process improvements and stay up to date with changes in trade regulations and logistics practices.
Experience & Skills Required: To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline. MBA or a postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain Management will be preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain, International Logistics, Trade Operations, or Distribution.
- Strong understanding of supply chain operations, customs documentation, international logistics, and regulatory compliance.
- Working knowledge of ICEGATE, DGFT, HS Code Classification, Incoterms, and Customs regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
- Excellent communication, coordination, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced business workplace.
