Position: State Coordinator (2)

Location: One position each in Meghalaya and Nagaland (Capital region)

Position Type: Full time

Reporting To: National Programme Manager About the Project The project aims to improve awareness, acceptance and uptake of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination among adolescent girls through an integrated school-community-government engagement model. The programme will work closely with Health, Education and Women & Child Development Departments, schools, communities and youth groups to strengthen adolescent health ecosystems through evidence-based Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC).

Job Purpose The State Coordinator will be responsible for overall programme implementation in the allocated districts. This programme requires liaisoning with state and district officials, Engaging Public & Private schools and conduct community outreach with volunteers for beneficiary mobilisation, awareness generation.

Key Responsibilities 1.

Programme

Leadership

Lead implementation of the project across assigned state.

Prepare state implementation plans and district-wise micro plans (currently 2 districts in each state).

Ensure achievement of project targets within timelines.

Supervise and support district implementation teams.

Coordinate with National Programme Team on implementation progress. 2.

Stakeholder

Coordination

Establish and maintain relationships with State Health Department, Education Department, Women & Child Development Department, State Immunization Officers, NHM officials, District Administrations

Facilitate approvals, MoUs and coordination meetings.

Represent ISRN in state & district level meetings and consultations.

- Lead School level Implementation of Programme

Plan & Conduct Mapping of Schools, Identify and engage Schools interested in the programme and collect all the data in specific formats.

Conduct discussions with onboarded schools and identify teachers and administrators that will actively participate in the school programme.

Conduct regular sessions with teachers and staff.





Prepare cohort of schools for ToT and plan and conduct ToT in both the districts.

Plan & Conduct Parent sensitization sessions with the teachers and administrators.

Share IEC material and ensure that timely notifications and reminders are sent by school staff to the students regarding the vaccination programme.

Plan and Conduct Expert session in a School with the support of teachers and students after school.

Maintain record of teachers, students, parents attending sessions, identify students who got vaccinated and under the program (school ambassador). Ensure implementation follows approved workplan and quality standards.

- Community mobilisation and PHC Engagement

Identify and engage 5-6 PHC (in both the districts) where the staff can be motivated and trained to promote HPV vaccination at their centre and localities.

Plan and conduct Community outreach with the support of PHC staff and local volunteers.

Conduct regular meetings with local representatives/influencers, religious leaders to promote the acceptance of programme

Establish and lead a network of volunteers (atleast 4 at state level) who will plan and conduct awareness campaigns in both districts. These volunteers will be part of Gully Youth lab initiative under the programme.

Plan and conduct Behaviour Change Communication activities like engaging Youth rock bands, Engaging Social media influencers and other such platforms to promote the GEI Teeka Talk campaign and HPV vaccination awareness campaigns.

Coordinate with Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), Village Health Sanitation and Nutrition Committees (VHSNCs), Anganwadi Workers, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), youth groups, schools, and community-based organisations.





Build rapport with community leaders to enhance acceptance and utilisation of telemedicine services.

Encourage community ownership and participation in project activities like special day celebrations, .

- Team Management

Supervise assigned District Coordinators and provide support when required.

Conduct supportive supervision visits to the assigned districts

Conduct performance reviews

Resolve implementation bottlenecks

Ensure safeguarding compliance

Manage state office and keep track of all inventories and expenditures

Maintain regular communication with the Reporting officer and provide regular updated related to the programme.

Support in organising state level events, workshops, ToT 6. Data Collection, Documentation & Reporting

Collect data in the data collection tools as required for the programme. Monitor the quality of data collected from the assigned districts.

Provide support in preparing Monthly reports and Quarterly reports

Collect Program specific Case studies, Success stories, Best practices and share with the national team

Ensure compliance of all safeguarding protocols and consents for capturing and collecting any data for the programme.

Any Other

Responsibility

Perform any other community engagement or project-related responsibilities assigned by the National Programme or ISRN management.

Required

Qualifications

Master's degree in Public Health, Social Work, Rural Development, Health Management, Sociology or related discipline. Experience

Essential

6–8 years in public health or development programmes.

Minimum 3 years managing multi-district projects.

Experience working with Government departments.

Experience in donor-funded projects. Preferred

Experience in adolescent health.

HPV/RMNCAH+/SBCC programmes.

North-East India experience. Travel
