About PRAD

PRAD is a product development and engineering organization building certified, manufacturable hardware for industrial safety and medical device markets. We build products we own and certify to applicable global standards, with the manufacturing and quality systems required for repeatable at -scale production. Role Summary

PRAD runs multiple hardware programs in parallel in industrial safety and medical devices. Programs are at different stages, from early concept to pilot production. This role is responsible for mechanical design across these programs, from concept through tooling, certification, and production. Responsibilities

Mechanical design of enclosures, mechanisms, and structural components across PRAD's product lines

DFM/DFA for injection-molded plastic parts - part design, gate/parting line strategy, draft, tolerancing, tool-friendly geometry

Ownership of designs through tooling: working with mold makers and vendors, T0/T1 sample review, dimensional and functional sign-off

Material selection and enclosure design for certified/regulated products - sealing, ingress protection, and category-specific constraints (e.g. flame path for ATEX-rated products, biocompatibility/cleanability for medical devices)

Structural and environmental validation: drop, vibration, thermal cycling, ingress testing - planning tests and interpreting results

Design for manufacturability and assembly across production processes

Tolerance stack-up analysis across multi-part assemblies

Coordination with electronics, firmware,

and industrial design to resolve mechanical-electrical integration issues before tooling

Documentation: design history files, drawings, BOMs, ECR/ECN process

Working across multiple active programs concurrently, re-prioritizing as certification, tooling, or commercial milestones shift Required Experience

Minimum 6+ years designing mechanical enclosures/assemblies for a physical product that shipped at volume

Hands-on injection molding experience: T0/T1 reviews, tool modification decisions, understanding of cost drivers in tooling and part design

Has taken a product from prototype through pilot to production

Expert-level SolidWorks or equivalent parametric CAD; GD&T; fluency

Tolerance stack-up analysis on real multi-component assemblies

Experience with at least one regulated or certified product category (ATEX/IECEx, IP rating, medical device, or equivalent)

Direct experience working with contract manufacturers or vendors, including evaluating and pushing back on DFM feedback Preferred

Exposure to more than one regulated product category (e.g. both hazardous-area industrial and medical)

Experience designing for low-volume-to-scale production transitions

Battery-powered handheld or wearable device design (sealing, thermal, drop survivability)

Ability to work across concurrent programs at different maturity stages without loss of design rigor PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR WORK PORTFOLIO ALONG WITH YOUR CV. Please share your CV to [email protected] or connect us on Linkedin
