APAC Assembly Packout Procurement Specialist

Job Summary

As a Senior Specialist in Global Assembly, Packout Procurement, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most creative people around the world.

Responsibilities

- Provide category leadership across 3M businesses and divisions for Outsourced Assembly and Packout, acting as a strategic procurement lead.

- Drive procurement policies and best practices to support cost savings, business growth, working capital goals, and effective NPI launches.

- Lead supplier selection, manage strategic supplier relationships, and support negotiations while driving should-cost modelling and cost reduction initiatives.

- Identify and implement solutions for complex procurement challenges, including dual sourcing, category strategy, supplier management, and process improvements.

- Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders such as Manufacturing, RD, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain Operations, while developing category risk reduction strategies.

- Own contract negotiations with strategic suppliers in collaboration with division stakeholders and Legal, including agreements for complex supply arrangements such as SMI, consignment, and formula-based pricing.

Your Skills and Expertise

3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or higher, completed and verified prior to the start date.

- Overall, 10 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years of combined experience in Sourcing, Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, and/or Manufacturing.

- Experience in Procurement, particularly with Assembly and Packout suppliers, including contract manufacturers and co-packers.

- Strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, self-driven approach with project management experience.

- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders on complex projects, while engaging stakeholders across all organizational levels.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with financial acumen and the ability to perform business analytics.
