Role Description The Sous Chef at NEAT India is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai, working closely with the Head Chef to support daily kitchen operations. This role involves planning and preparing high-quality, nutritional menus for subscription plans, private dining, catering events, and vanity kitchen services.
The Sous
Chef will oversee food preparation, assist in plating and presentation, maintain hygiene and safety standards, and ensure consistency in taste and quality.
Responsibilities include supervising junior kitchen staff, coordinating with procurement on fresh produce,
and supporting the customization of meals to meet client health and dietary requirements.
The Sous
Chef will also contribute to new recipe development, help manage kitchen inventory, and ensure timely service for both in-house and on-location assignments.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong culinary skills, including experience in hot and cold kitchen preparation and knowledge of nutrition-focused cooking.
- Candidates should possess skills in menu planning, food presentation, and recipe development tailored to diverse dietary requirements.
- Candidates should possess skills in kitchen operations, including staff supervision, inventory management, and adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Candidates should possess effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with chefs, service staff, and client-facing teams.
- Relevant professional culinary training or certification from a recognized institute is preferred.
- Prior experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role in high-end restaurants, luxury catering, or health-focused food services is an advantage.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and late shifts, as required by client commitments and events.
- Strong attention to detail, creativity in flavor combinations, and a passion for healthy and innovative cuisine are highly valued.
