About the Role:

GGS is looking for a Senior Devops Engineer (SDE3) with robust Linux, AWS, Azure, CI/CD, and infra optimization expertise responsible for building scalable, high-performance web applications. This is a builder role, not a caretaker role, and a hands-on role, focused on building scalable, reliable automation enabling consistent delivery of workloads. You will make architectural decisions, write CI/CD templates, introduce disk and i/o optimizations, reduce network attack surface areas, and directly influence product velocity and quality, and impact the life of millions of students.

What will you do?

The Senior Devops Engineer will:

- Work closely with the Backend and Product teams to build scalable k8s, VM design that powers the edtech platforms of GGS.
- Work closely with developers and QA teams to ensure delivery processes are efficient, compliant and traceable.
- Lead the creation, maintenance and optimisation of CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment of applications. Focus should be on improving efficiency, speed and reliability of deployments.
- 1. Use CI/CD, Terraform to seamlessly deploy solutions across environments with minimal manual intervention.
- 2. Ensure that environment-specific configuration is automated and consistently applied during developments such as certificates, secrets, database connections. Use Terraform or similar, to manage these configurations.
- 3. Work with our software engineers,



seek to develop a self-healing and resilient set of microservices, promoting good operational principles during our research, design, and development phases.
- 4. Manage communications and engagement with stakeholders including platform support, project management and live support DevOps.
- 5. Report status and manage risks within your primary application/service.
- 6. Develop complete understanding of end-to-end technical architecture and dependency systems.
- 7. Communicate with a range of stakeholders, including subject matter experts, software engineers and enterprise DevOps and security professionals.

What must you bring?

- 1. 5 Years of Experience and expertise in database performance tuning, security, automation and cloud-based best practices.
- 2. Have hands-on experience with writing code. You have a firm grasp of traditional data warehousing, can write SQL, and can optimise the use of a large relational database, as well as experience with NoSQL.
- 3. Have experience with, and are interested in, contemporary approaches to service design, including the use of containers and container orchestration technologies, streaming data platforms, APIs and in-memory/NoSQL stores.
- 4.



Understand how to build and operate deployment pipelines.
- 5. Can debug products end to end through logs and error messages.
- 6. Have K8S, AWS, Azure and Linux experience.
- 7. You can deploy and optimise container-based streaming, storage and logging technologies and manage their operation during software development and testing.
- 8.

Experience of working within Agile frameworks including Scrum and Kanban.

- 9.

Experience with Git version control and branching strategies, e.g. trunk-based development, gitflow.

- 10. Ability to write clear and concise documentation designed to be used by other devops teams, e.g. run books.
- 11. Ability to setup agents for scan packages and FOSS installed on production env.
- 12. Setting up service discovery, observability and monitoring for proactive information.
- 13. Agentic first Approach to fine tune large scale DBs.
- 14. Expertise in setting up PGBouncer, RDSProxy for connection pooling.
- 15. Expertise in setting up ETL and data pipelines using Apache Iceberg.
- 16. Provide 24-7 support for our production application.
- 17. Perform installations, patching, and upgrades on Azure and AWS infrastructure.
- 18. Configure and manage multi-AZ deployments, Read Replicas, to ensure high availability.

Maintain Performance

Baselines and document tuning efforts and outcomes.

- 20. Identify network, fd, CPU, Mem, i/o, latency bottlenecks in end-to-end system design and drive optimisation.
- 21. Thinks AI and Agentic First in designing solutions.
- 22. Good expertise on AIDD and AIRD on either of the tools such as Cursor, Windsurf.
- 23. Understands challenges and pace of 0-1 journey.
- 24. Has propensity to build low latency end user experience in a high velocity environment.
