A Shift Incharge in coal mining is responsible for supervising and managing all aspects of the mining operation during their designated shift, including safety, production, and compliance. They work closely with other shift teams, supervisors, and management to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the mine.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervision:

Directing and guiding the shift team, ensuring they follow safety procedures and operational guidelines.

- Safety:

Implementing and maintaining safety protocols, identifying and addressing hazards, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

- Production:

Monitoring and managing production activities, ensuring targets are met, and addressing any operational issues.

- Communication:

Effectively communicating with other shift teams, supervisors, and management, providing updates and reporting any issues.

- Compliance:

Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

- Documentation:

Maintaining accurate records of shift activities,



including safety checks, production data, and any incidents.

- Problem Solving:

Addressing and resolving operational issues that arise during their shift.

- Coordination:

Working collaboratively with other departments, such as Mine Developer & Operator (MDO), security, sampling agency, and logistics partners, to achieve shift targets.

- Technology and Innovation:

Contributing to the implementation of cutting-edge technologies and digitalization efforts to improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications

- Education:

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.

- Experience:

Several years of experience in coal mining operations are usually required, with experience in a supervisory or management role.
