: Server Administrator Endpoint Patch Management

Role: Server Administrator Function: IT Infrastructure / Cloud & Infrastructure Services Location: Navi Mumbai

Role Summary The Server Administrator will be responsible for administering, monitoring, securing, and maintaining enterprise server infrastructure and endpoint patch compliance. The role requires hands-on experience in Windows/Linux server administration, endpoint patch management, vulnerability remediation, system monitoring, troubleshooting, backup coordination, and compliance reporting. The candidate will work closely with infrastructure, security, application, and end-user support teams to ensure systems remain secure, stable, available, and aligned with organizational patching standards.

Key Responsibilities

Administer, configure, monitor, and maintain Windows and/or Linux servers across physical, virtual, and cloud environments.

Manage endpoint patching activities for servers, desktops, laptops, and other managed devices using tools such as WSUS, SCCM/MECM, Intune, Ivanti, Tanium, BigFix, or equivalent platforms.

Plan, test, schedule, deploy, and validate operating system, application, firmware, and security patches with minimal business disruption.





Monitor patch compliance dashboards, identify failed deployments, troubleshoot patch installation issues, and coordinate remediation actions.

Review vendor advisories, security bulletins, vulnerability scan outputs, and risk ratings to prioritize patch deployment.

Support vulnerability management by coordinating timely remediation of critical and high-risk findings across endpoints and servers.

Maintain system health by monitoring server performance, disk utilization, services, event logs, availability, and capacity trends.

Perform user, group, and access administration through Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related infrastructure services where applicable.

Support backup, recovery, antivirus/EDR, endpoint protection, and disaster recovery activities as per organizational policies.

Prepare patch status reports, compliance reports, exception reports, RCA summaries, and audit evidence for internal and external reviews.

Maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, patch calendars, asset inventories, change records, and known error databases.

Coordinate with security, network, application, service desk, and business teams for planned maintenance, emergency patching, and incident resolution.

Follow ITIL-aligned incident, problem, change, release, and configuration management processes.

Participate in after-hours maintenance windows, emergency patching, and on-call support as required.

RequirementsRequired Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration; Linux administration knowledge is an added advantage.

Hands-on experience with endpoint and server patch management tools such as WSUS, SCCM/MECM, Microsoft Intune, Ivanti, Tanium, BigFix, ManageEngine, or equivalent.

Understanding of vulnerability management, CVSS risk prioritization, security baselines, and remediation timelines.





Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, permissions, and access control.

Working knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.

Familiarity with endpoint protection, antivirus, EDR platforms, backup tools, and monitoring tools.

Ability to troubleshoot patch failures, service failures, OS issues, performance bottlenecks, and connectivity problems.

Basic scripting or automation skills using PowerShell, Bash, or similar tools.

Knowledge of ITIL processes, change control, incident management, and compliance reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

10+ years of experience in server administration, endpoint management, infrastructure operations, or patch management.

Experience supporting enterprise IT environments with defined patch cycles, maintenance windows, change approvals, and compliance targets.

Experience working with security teams on vulnerability remediation and audit readiness.

Preferred Certifications

Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, Azure Administrator, Endpoint Administrator, or equivalent Microsoft certification.

VMware, Red Hat, SCCM/MECM, Intune, Ivanti, or endpoint management tool-specific certifications are desirable.

Behavioural Competencies
