J Ob Summary Provide technical skills that cover a broad range of disciplines and/or a particular technical discipline that is of significance to HCA. Perform technical project assigned with minimal supervision. Identify, investigate, evaluate and become proficient in new technologies and technical disciplines that are of significance to HCA Healthcare.
Work with senior team members to develop analytical and design ability, high degree of creativity, troubleshooting and innovation ability; knowledge of the business implications of technical approaches, directions and solutions; ability to innovate in complex technical areas, ability to achieve results, project planning and coordination skills, and communication skills. Specific responsibilities include implementation of software systems on various hardware platforms, operating system installation and customization where applicable, troubleshoot, identify and implement improvements, assist and advise in disaster recovery planning from component failures standpoint of supported systems and provide operational analysis of root cause and system trends.
Responsibilities Requires in depth knowledge of supported operating systems, utilities, vendor products, applicable programming languages, diagnostic techniques, database management systems, benchmarking methodologies, applicable communications protocols, applicable hardware configurations, use of statistical and analytical tools for system monitoring and evaluation. In depth knowledge of technology, network, data and applications architectures. Ability to communicate with various levels and types of end users is also required.
Maintain frequent interaction with internal and vendor technical staffs and project managers to ensure effective delivery of solutions in accordance with project timelines and associated budgets.
Assist with the installation and certification of all supporting software and hardware in a lab environment in order to assure a sound deployment basis for production implementations. Troubleshoot and resolve critical system issues and provide root cause analysis.
Deliverables will influence patient care – every process, technology and decision matters. Core Responsibilities (Strategic) Design and develop creative solutions to meet challenging requirements while planning for lifecycle management and infrastructure standards Lead complex incident investigation and root cause analysis across lab and infrastructure systems Diagnose cross-system issues involving OS, applications, databases, and networking Define system configurations, security standards, and performance baselines Drive capacity planning, scalability, and system optimization strategies Contribute to disaster recovery architecture and resiliency planning Evaluate and implement recent technologies aligned with enterprise needs Communicate system risks, impacts, and remediation strategies to stakeholders Task / Execute Responsibilities (Operational) Install, configure, and maintain Windows/Linux servers and lab environments Perform system patching, upgrades, and routine maintenance Monitor systems using tools (Dynatrace, SCOM, Splunk, etc.) Perform initial incident triage using runbooks and monitoring alerts Resolve known issues using documented procedures (service restarts, job reruns, configuration fixes) Execute backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures Provision user access, permissions, and configurations Escalate unknown or complex issues with logs, metrics, and diagnostics Maintain documentation, SOPs,
and operational runbooks Qualifications / Job Skills Must have 5+ years’ experience in deploying technically complex infrastructure computing solutions across platforms and components.
Specific platform knowledge in one or more key areas including Windows Server 2012 & above, Linux Redhat and 7.x & above, and Apache Tomcat
Experience with Windows 10 and 11 client operating systems and application configuration.
Microsoft SCCM Application and patch management experience for both clients and servers desirable.
Understanding of SAN-attached devices and tools such as NetApp PowerPath, VIPR, and HBAAnywhere very desirable.
Experience with virtual technology, such as, VMWare ESX, Hyper-V, hyperconverged platforms, and private cloud technologies is highly desirable.
Experience with OS setting running one or more databases including Microsoft SQLand My SQL desirable
Ability to work with DBAs and understand their requirements is necessary.
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively are essential.
Experience with electronic medical and lab specific applications such as Meditech, Cerner, eClinicalworks, Epic, Vantage, Myla, Telcor, Novanet, and Infinity is preferred.
Working knowledge of key ITIL processes is desirable.
Experience with application performance monitoring, operational analytics, and configuration management tools such as Dynatrace, SCOM, Splunk, and BMC Patrol is a plus.
Previous experience with application development coding, debugging, testing and delivery into a production environment is highly desirable.
A solid understanding of compute performance metrics and tools is highly desirable, to include understanding of CPU utilization levels, CPU and disk queuing, I/O response times, and other key performance indicators and their impact on performance.
Understanding of network fundamentals and performance principles, including a firm understanding of TCPIP protocols.
