Role Description The Senior Staff Mechanical Engineer will lead the design, development, and optimization of mechanical systems and components for point-of-care diagnostic devices and related MedTech products. This full-time, on-site role, based in the Pune District, involves owning mechanical architecture, performing detailed machine design, and creating robust CAD models and drawings for manufacturability and reliability. The engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in electronics, optics,



microfluidics, biosciences, and software to translate clinical and product requirements into mechanical solutions.

Daily responsibilities include guiding R&D; activities, conducting design reviews, running tolerance and stress analyses, supporting prototyping and testing, and working with manufacturing and suppliers to industrialize designs. The role also includes project leadership duties such as planning, tracking milestones, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to documentation required for quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

Solid foundation in Mechanical Engineering, with experience in medical devices or precision instrumentation preferred.

Demonstrated expertise in Machine Design for complex assemblies, mechanisms, and enclosures, including design for manufacturability and reliability.

Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, or similar) for 3D modeling, detailed drawings, and tolerance analysis.

Experience in Project Management, including planning, cross-functional coordination, risk management, and delivery of engineering milestones.

Hands-on involvement in Research and Development (R&D;), including prototyping, testing, design iteration, and documentation of design decisions.

Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes (such as injection molding, sheet metal, machining), and basic structural and thermal analysis.
