About the Role We're looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer to own quality across a large-scale water infrastructure monitoring platform. You'll build automation for APIs, backend services, and web applications that process telemetry from SCADA systems and other hardware integrations. This is primarily a software QA automation role with a strong focus on backend validation, data integrity, and end-to-end system quality.

Experience testing software platforms that integrate with hardware, sensors, SCADA systems, telemetry, or industrial automation will be an advantage.

What You'll Do Build and maintain automation frameworks for REST APIs that ingest telemetry from SCADA and third-party hardware systems. Validate data integrity across the platform, ensuring data is accurately processed, aggregated, and displayed from sub-zones through to city-level dashboards. Develop and maintain automated regression suites for web applications using Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.

Design test scenarios for malformed, delayed, duplicate, or missing telemetry data to ensure the platform behaves predictably under real-world conditions. Validate third-party integrations,



backend services, APIs, and end-to-end business workflows. Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.

Develop effective test data strategies for time-series and geospatial datasets. Investigate defects by tracing failures across APIs, services, databases, and application layers to identify root causes.

What We're Looking For Required Automation Engineering Solid experience building and maintaining automation frameworks using Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress. Proficiency in at least one automation language such as JavaScript, Java, or Python. Hands-on experience with API testing using Postman, RestAssured, or equivalent tools. Testing & Quality Strong understanding of STLC, test design techniques, and automation best practices.

Experience validating business logic and data correctness, not just UI functionality. Excellent debugging and analytical skills with the ability to trace issues across multiple system components.

Engineering Practices

Experience with Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI. Strong SQL skills for validating, troubleshooting, and investigating application data.

Preferred Experience testing software platforms that integrate with hardware,



sensors, SCADA systems, telemetry, or industrial automation. Exposure to time-series databases, GIS, or geospatial data. Performance testing using JMeter, k6, or similar tools.

Experience with Docker or containerized testing environments.

Experience working on industrial, utilities, infrastructure, or other integration-heavy enterprise software.

You verify not only that features work, but that the underlying data is accurate and trustworthy. You investigate intermittent failures to identify root causes instead of treating symptoms. You proactively identify edge cases, integration risks, and data quality issues before they reach production. You have built or significantly contributed to automation frameworks rather than only adding test cases. You collaborate closely with developers to improve product quality and release confidence.

Who This Role Is Not For

Candidates with only manual testing experience and limited hands-on automation expertise. Candidates interested primarily in UI testing rather than backend, API, and data validation. Candidates who prefer executing predefined test cases over designing test strategies and solving complex quality challenges.
