Senior Network Specialist Customer & Engineering Interface LinkEye · Bangalore, India About us We are a Bangalore-based networking startup working at the intersection of AI and networking — improving network reliability and reducing time-to-action for our customers. The founding team brings a cumulative 45 years of experience in the networking industry. The role Own the technical relationship between LinkEye's enterprise customers and our internal engineering and product teams.

Translate raw network operational pain into product requirements, and translate LinkEye's platform into deployable value inside the customer's NOC. This is a bidirectional translation role. You must be deep enough in networking to debate a customer's principal architect as a peer, and structured enough to convert that conversation into engineering-ready specs.

Above all, we want someone who understands how a network actually works — how data flows, how devices talk to each other, and how that behaviour surfaces (or hides) inside an NMS. What we're really looking for We care far more about depth of understanding and evidence of building than about years on a résumé. First-principles command of networking.

You reason from how packets move and devices converse — L2/L3 forwarding, ARP and MAC learning, routing decisions, TCP behaviour, control-plane vs. data-plane — not from memorised vendor CLI. Handed an unfamiliar topology, you can reason through it out loud. Deep fluency with NMS / network management.

You understand what an NMS is doing under the hood: discovery, polling and the SNMP object model (MIBs, OIDs, traps), streaming telemetry, syslog, NetFlow/IPFIX, fault and performance management, topology and root-cause correlation, and where these systems lie or lag.

You've lived inside tools like SolarWinds, LibreNMS, Zabbix, Nagios, PRTG, Cisco DNA/Catalyst Centre, or equivalent — and you know their limits. You've built automation and custom use cases.

Not "ran a playbook once," but designed and shipped something that solved a real operational problem — config automation, a telemetry collector, a diagnostic tool, or a closed-loop workflow. Be ready to walk us through the repo. You articulate in the language engineering understands.

You can decompose an ambiguous operational problem into clear requirements, edge cases, and data models a PM or EM can build against — and hold your own with a customer's senior architect in the same breath. Strong communication, written and verbal. Specs, runbooks, and architecture docs that other engineers can act on without a follow-up meeting.

Responsibilities Partner with Presales on enterprise engagements — technical discovery, solution positioning, and proof-of-concept work.

Run technical discovery: map customer telemetry sources, existing NMS / NPM / observability stacks, automation maturity, and MTTR baselines. Provide engineering with ground-truth on customer topologies, multi-vendor environments (Cisco, Arista, Aruba, Fortinet, Palo Alto), and protocol-level constraints.

Validate that LinkEye's telemetry-to-context outputs — feeding Claude / Copilot / OpenAI agents — align with real customer NetOps workflows.

Work with the PM and EM to gather feedback, validate requirements, and shape product enhancements. Build reference architectures, deployment runbooks, and integration documentation. Test requirements on the ground — validate technical feasibility hands-on in lab and real customer environments before they become commitments.

Constantly push to expand LinkEye's horizon — probe current use cases, vendors, and capabilities that extend what the platform can do. Support presales technical validation and respond to architecture-level objections during the sales cycle.

Required

Proven, hands-on production networking experience at enterprise scale — depth and demonstrated building matter more to us than a specific year count. Deep command of routing/switching and of network telemetry: SNMP, streaming telemetry, NetFlow/IPFIX, syslog, and modern observability pipelines. Strong working knowledge of the NMS / NPM / NPMD / ITOM landscape and where AIOps fits into it.

Demonstrated ability to operate at the customer interface — solutions architecture, sales engineering, TAC escalation lead, or customer-facing principal engineer. Ability to decompose ambiguous operational problems into structured product requirements.

Preferred

Network automation — Ansible, NETCONF/YANG, Terraform, CI/CD for network config, or equivalent programmatic operations. Hands-on Python. Exposure to SDN, NFV, and intent-based networking. Familiarity with LLM agents, MCP, or AI-driven automation.

Experience deploying into regulated or multi-vendor enterprise environments. Vendor certifications (CCIE/CCNP or equivalent) are a plus but not a requirement.
