About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior MEP Design Engineer who can independently manage multidisciplinary building-services design and guide a small team of engineering interns.

The candidate should have strong practical experience in MEP consultancy, particularly in:

- Electrical design
- Plumbing and public-health engineering
- Firefighting and fire-protection systems
- AutoCAD and BIM coordination
- Design documentation and technical reporting
- Intern supervision and work review

The candidate will be responsible for both technical design work and the day-to-day guidance, training, and quality control of interns working under the MEP team.

- Explain engineering standards, calculation methods and drawing practices
- Review drawings, calculations, BOQs and reports prepared by interns




- Correct technical and drafting errors before internal or client submission
- Monitor work quality, accuracy, productivity and deadlines
- Maintain proper task allocation and progress trackers
- Conduct regular design-review sessions
- Support interns in developing practical consultancy and project skills
- Ensure that interns follow UPT’s drawing standards, templates and documentation processes
- Escalate delays, quality issues or training requirements to management
- Take final responsibility for work submitted by the assigned team

Required Qualifications
- Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, or a relevant engineering discipline
- 4–6 years of relevant MEP design experience
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD
- Working knowledge of Revit MEP and BIM workflows
- Knowledge of applicable Indian codes and standards
- Ability to prepare engineering calculations, drawings, BOQs and DBRs
- Experience reviewing the work of junior engineers, trainees or interns
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly
- Strong documentation, communication and coordination skills
- Ability to independently manage assigned design packages and team deadlines

- Currently based in Kolkata or nearby
- Available for full-time work from the office
- Experience working with an MEP consultancy or design organization
- Experience mentoring junior engineers, draftsmen or interns
- Able to manage multiple projects and team assignments
- Organized, responsible and capable of meeting deadlines
- Comfortable communicating with architects, clients, contractors and internal teams
- Immediate or short-notice joiner preferred
