Job Title : Senior Mainframe Systems Engineer (IMS DB/DC Specialist)

Location : Chennai - Hybrid

Experience : 6 Years in IT (4 Years in core Mainframe Development/Support)

Job Summary :

We are seeking a seasoned Mainframe Systems Engineer to join our core infrastructure and applications team. This role is focused on providing high-level production support, "break-fix" resolutions, and critical enhancements to our enterprise mainframe environment.

The ideal candidate must be a technical expert in COBOL, JCL, and DB2, with mandatory, hands-on experience in IMS DB/DC. You will be responsible for ensuring the stability of legacy systems while navigating modern Agile workflows and enterprise security frameworks.

Key Responsibilities :

- Development & Maintenance: Lead coding and development activities for mainframe application enhancements. Write and optimize complex COBOL programs and JCL streams.
- Production Support (Break-Fix): Act as a high-level technical resource for production support. Rapidly identify, troubleshoot, and resolve critical system failures to maintain service continuity.
- IMS Specialization: Manage and support IMS DB/DC environments.



This is a core requirement of the role, involving deep-dive technical management of IMS databases and data communications.
- Tooling & Version Control: Utilize Endevor for software change management and SPUFI/File Manager for data manipulation and analysis.
- Agile & Compliance: Participate in Agile ceremonies, using Rally/Agile Central for status reporting. Ensure all development adheres to strict Enterprise Architectural Frameworks and Security & Controls protocols.

Skills & Qualifications :

Must-Have Technical Skills :

- Core Mainframe: Advanced proficiency in COBOL, JCL, and IBM DB2.
- Mandatory Expertise: Strong hands-on experience in IMS DB/DC (Database and Data

Communications).

- Utilities: Proven experience using Endevor, SPUFI, and File Manager.

Skilled Experience :

- Tenure: 6 years in IT with at least 4 years of dedicated development experience.
- Competency: Proficient in at least two coding languages or advanced mastery of one (Mainframe-centric).
- Processes: Familiarity with Agile Central (Rally) and a strong understanding of enterprise security controls.
