Position Purpose

Manages specialized, complex HR inquiries and escalated employee cases. This role requires deeper policy interpretation, investigative problem-solving, and a strong understanding of compliance and regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

- Advanced Case Management: Investigate and resolve highly escalated or complex employee issues regarding FMLA, ADA accommodations, benefits disputes, and intricate payroll corrections.

- Employee Relations Support: Handle sensitive employee relations concerns and ethics escalations with strict confidentiality and objective judgment.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with HR Business Partners (HRBPs), legal teams, and corporate payroll/benefits stakeholders to resolve systemic or high-risk issues.

- Knowledge Sharing: Provide real-time guidance, technical policy support, and informal mentorship to L1 Helpdesk Associates to upskill the front-line team.

- Compliance Oversight: Monitor processes to ensure absolute compliance with federal, state, and local labor regulations, minimizing institutional risk.

Experience in Years

- Total Experience: 3 to 5 years of skilled experience.

- Domain-Specific Experience: Minimum 23 years of specialized experience within an HR Shared Services (HRSS), HR Operations, or an HR Generalist environment.

The ideal candidate has moved past basic customer service and has focused deeply on HR delivery, processing complex leaves or resolving intricate backend payroll mismatches.

- Analytical Investigator: They are detail-oriented individuals who enjoy digging into policy documents, historical audit trails, and employment laws to find compliant solutions to grey-area problems.

- The De-escalator: They possess advanced communication skills tailored for conflict resolution, capable of calming down highly frustrated employees or managers over the phone or email.

- Peer Mentor: They are natural knowledge-sharers who enjoy helping newer associates master policy rules and system workflows.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Subject Matter Expertise: Deep, practical knowledge of leave administration (FMLA/ADA), employee relations practices, and regional labor laws.

- Communication: Highly polished, empathetic communication skills; proven ability to manage emotionally charged situations and defuse conflict.

- Analytical Skills: Strong root-cause analysis and documentation skills, ensuring all compliance-sensitive cases are legally airtight.

- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience working with advanced enterprise HRIS tools (e.g., Workday, SAP, ServiceNow, or Oracle).
