Profile: Senior Full Stack Engineer - Payments & ACH (AI-Native)

Experience: 7–10 years (Backend-heavy)

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer with deep backend expertise and hands-on experience building ACH payment systems . You'll work on high-volume payment processing, reconciliation, virtual account ledgering, and event-driven services while leveraging AI-native development tools to build secure, scalable financial infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop ACH payment workflows, including origination, returns, retries, reconciliation, and ledgering.
- Build and maintain scalable backend services, REST APIs, and microservices.
- Design event-driven architectures using AWS SQS, webhooks, and asynchronous processing.
- Develop and optimize PostgreSQL schemas with a focus on data integrity and performance.
- Build and maintain internal React-based dashboards and operational tools.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment processes.
- Create technical documentation, design documents, and runbooks.
- Collaborate with customers and internal teams to support integrations and troubleshoot production issues.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor,



or similar to improve engineering productivity while maintaining code quality.

Required Skills & Experience

- 7-10 years of software engineering experience with a robust backend focus.
- Hands-on experience with ACH payment processing , reconciliation, returns, retries, or ledgering.
- Strong experience with Node.js, Express.js, NestJS (or Hapi) .
- Experience building REST APIs, GraphQL services, microservices, and WebSockets.
- Strong understanding of event-driven architecture, queues, retries, and webhook-based integrations.
- Expertise in PostgreSQL schema design, query optimization, and data integrity.
- Experience with AWS services including Lambda, RDS, SQS, API Gateway, and Secrets Manager.
- Frontend experience with React.js, Next.js, Redux, React Hook Form, TanStack Query, Jest, and Playwright.
- Familiarity with OpenAPI/Swagger, CI/CD, and automated deployments.
- Experience working with AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar.

Preferred Qualifications

- Knowledge of NACHA Operating Rules.
- Experience with RTP, FedNow, Wire Payments, or Debit Card payment rails.
- Experience in regulated fintech environments (SOC 2, audit logging, idempotency).
- Previous mentoring or technical leadership experience.
