Job Title : Senior Engineer / Assistant Manager Quality (Aerospace & Defence Electronics)
Experience: 5- 7 Years
Industry: Aerospace, Defence, Electronics Manufacturing, Wiring Harness, PCB Assembly, Box Build Integration
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with Aerospace & Defence Quality Management System requirements, including AS9100 standards and customer-specific quality requirements.
- Drive implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Lead quality assurance activities across Receiving Inspection, In-Process Inspection, Final Inspection, and Customer Acceptance stages.
- Develop, review, and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, inspection plans, and quality records.
- Deploy and monitor Quality Core Tools including PFMEA, Control Plans (CP), SPC, and MSA across manufacturing processes.
- Facilitate Process FMEA reviews and ensure effective risk mitigation actions are implemented.
- Analyze process capability and quality performance metrics using Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Conduct Measurement System Analysis (MSA) to ensure reliability and accuracy of inspection systems.
- Apply 7 QC Tools and structured problem-solving methodologies to drive defect reduction and process improvement.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), and 8D investigations for internal and external quality issues.
- Interface directly with customers for quality-related concerns, audits, complaints, and corrective action closure.
- Ensure timely closure of customer complaints with effective containment, corrective, and preventive actions.
- Perform supplier quality evaluations, vendor audits, and supplier performance monitoring programs.
- Review supplier quality documentation and ensure compliance with aerospace and defence requirements.
- Manage receiving inspection activities for electronic, electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical components.
- Ensure compliance with IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 requirements for electronic assemblies and wiring harness manufacturing.
- Support First Article Inspection (FAI) activities as per aerospace customer requirements.
- Review manufacturing processes for Wiring Harness Assemblies, Cable Assemblies, PCB Assemblies, and Box Build Integration.
- Ensure process controls and inspection criteria are effectively implemented throughout production.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Program teams to achieve quality objectives.
- Conduct internal audits and support external audits from customers, certification bodies, and regulatory agencies.
- Monitor quality KPIs such as FPY, COPQ, Customer Complaints, Supplier PPM, Rework, and Scrap.
- Mentor and guide quality inspectors and engineers on quality tools, standards, and best practices.
- Support qualification and validation activities for current products, processes, and suppliers.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Quality Tools, and data-driven decision-making techniques.
- Ensure traceability, configuration control, and documentation requirements are maintained for aerospace and defence products.
- Possess working knowledge of mechanical components used in aerospace and defence box-build assemblies, including machining, sheet metal, fasteners, connectors, and electromechanical integration.

- Expertise in AS9100 QMS implementation and audit compliance.
- Hands-on experience in Wiring Harness, PCB Assembly, and Electronics Manufacturing.

- Excellent customer handling, communication, and leadership abilities.
- Ability to lead cross-functional quality improvement initiatives and mentor teams.
- Proficient in quality documentation, audit management, and quality reporting.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent.
- IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification/training preferred.
- AS9100 Internal Auditor / Lead Auditor certification preferred.
