Senior Power Electronics Design Engineer / Project Design Lead Experience : 10+ Years Education Master's Degree (M.Tech/MS/ME) in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Drives, Energy Systems, or related discipline from a reputed institute (IITs, NITs, IISc, top global universities, or equivalent).

Location: Bangalore Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior Power Electronics Design Engineer with more than 10 years of experience in the design and development of power conversion products such as Online UPS, DC-DC Converters, Inverters, Power Supplies, Energy Storage Systems, and related power electronic platforms. The candidate will be responsible for leading end-to-end product development, from concept definition through production release and lifecycle management, while acting as a technical leader for cross-functional global teams. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in power electronics architecture, control systems, magnetics design, digital power conversion, product qualification, and project leadership.

Key Responsibilities Product Design & Development Lead the design and development of power electronic systems including:

Online UPS (Single Phase / Three Phase)

DC-DC Converters

Bidirectional Converters

DC-AC Inverters

Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

Power Supplies and related power conversion products

Define product architecture, system specifications, and technical requirements.

Design and optimize high-frequency switching power converters using topologies such as:

Buck, Boost, Buck-Boost

Flyback, Forward

Half-Bridge, Full-Bridge

LLC Resonant

Phase Shift Full Bridge

PFC Converters

Perform component selection and design calculations for:

Power semiconductors (IGBT, SiC, GaN, MOSFETs)

Magnetics

Capacitors

Thermal systems

Protection circuits

Control & Embedded Design Develop control algorithms for power conversion systems.

Work closely with embedded teams on DSP, MCU, FPGA-based control implementation.

Design and optimize

Current control loops

Voltage control loops

Digital control algorithms

Battery charging and management strategies

Product Lifecycle Management Own complete product lifecycle from:

Concept generation

Feasibility study

Architecture definition

Detailed design

Prototyping

Validation

Certification

Production launch

Sustaining engineering

Drive design for manufacturability, reliability, quality, and cost optimization.

Project Leadership

Act as Project Design Lead for complex product development programs.

Lead global cross-functional teams involving:

Mechanical Engineering

Firmware Development

Software Engineering

Testing & Validation

Manufacturing Engineering

Supply Chain

Quality Engineering

Manage project schedules, risks, technical reviews, and milestone deliveries. Testing & Compliance Lead product verification and validation activities.

Support compliance and certification activities including:

IEC, UL, CE, EMC/EMI,



Safety Standards

Conduct reliability testing including

Thermal testing, HALT/HASS, Environmental testing

Innovation & Technical Leadership Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.

Drive innovation initiatives and technology roadmaps.

Contribute to patent generation, technical publications, and next-generation product concepts.

Required Technical Skills Power Electronics

Expert knowledge of

Root Cause Analysis

Reliability Engineering

APQP / Stage-Gate Product Development Process Leadership Competencies Proven experience as Technical Lead or Project Design Lead.

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.

Experience working with global engineering teams and customers.

Preferred Qualifications Experience in Data Center Power Infrastructure products.

Experience with Lithium-Ion Battery Systems and BMS.

Working knowledge of SiC/GaN-based power converter designs.

Patent filings, publications, or innovation awards preferred.

PMP, Agile, or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
