Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect / Senior Data Architect to lead the architecture, design, development, and maintenance of enterprise-scale data platforms. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in modern data architecture, big data technologies, database engineering, and data pipeline development, with the ability to solve complex business problems through scalable and efficient technical solutions.

This is a hands-on architecture role requiring technical leadership across transactional systems, analytical platforms, batch and streaming data pipelines, and enterprise data ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale data platforms supporting operational and analytical workloads.

- Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable, reliable, and efficient data architecture solutions.

- Architect and implement batch and real-time streaming data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and delivery of enterprise data.

- Define and govern enterprise data architecture standards, design patterns, and engineering best practices.

- Design and optimize data models, database schemas, storage strategies, and processing frameworks.

- Work across transactional and analytical database platforms to ensure performance, scalability, and maintainability.

- Optimize complex SQL/NoSQL queries, stored procedures, and database workloads.

- Drive architecture decisions for distributed data systems, event-driven architectures, and analytics-serving platforms.

- Support enterprise reporting and analytics use cases across the data platform ecosystem.





- Collaborate with engineering, analytics, product, and business stakeholders to solve complex data challenges.

- Ensure platform reliability, security, governance, observability, and performance optimization.

- Mentor engineering teams and provide architectural guidance on implementation and technical decision-making.

Required Technical Skills

Data Architecture & Engineering

- Solid experience in enterprise data architecture, platform design, development, and maintenance

- Deep understanding of data engineering concepts, ETL/ELT frameworks, distributed systems, and data integration patterns

- Proven expertise in designing scalable batch and streaming data architectures

Databases & Data Platforms

Strong understanding of both transactional and analytical data platforms:

Transactional / Operational Databases

- Oracle

- PostgreSQL

- MongoDB

Analytical / Big Data Platforms

- Apache Druid

- Databricks ecosystem (Delta Live Tables, Unity Catalog)

Expertise in
- Data modelling (conceptual, logical, physical)

- Database design

- Query optimization

- Schema design

- Stored procedure tuning

- SQL and NoSQL development

Streaming / Data Integration

Hands-on expertise in:

- Apache Kafka

- Real-time streaming architecture





- Event-driven data processing

- Batch data processing frameworks

Preferred
- Exposure to Mage for pipeline orchestration/development

Programming / Platform Skills

Strong working knowledge of

- Python

- Linux / shell scripting

- SQL

- NoSQL query development

Analytics / Reporting Ecosystem

Exposure to analytics and reporting platforms such as Apache Superset and related BI/data serving tools.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with enterprise data governance and metadata management

- Exposure to observability and monitoring for data platforms

- CI/CD for data engineering deployments

- Understanding of access control, security, and governance frameworks

- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP)

Experience

Data Architect

- 8–12 years of experience in data engineering / database engineering / platform architecture

- 3+ years in architecture or technical leadership roles

Senior Data Architect

- 12+ years of experience in enterprise data engineering / architecture

- 5+ years in architecture leadership roles

- Proven experience designing and scaling enterprise data platforms
