Job Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Canadian Nonprofit Bookkeeper to support registered charities and nonprofit organizations with their day-to-day accounting operations.

In this full-time remote role, you will manage bookkeeping, payroll, reconciliations, financial reporting, and compliance support while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. The ideal candidate has strong Canadian accounting experience, excellent analytical skills, and enjoys working with multiple clients in a collaborative environment.

Schedule

- Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST (40 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records using QuickBooks Online, including bank accounts, credit card transactions, and Stripe reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly and year-end financial statements, management reports, and provide financial reporting support for registered charities and nonprofit organizations.
- Prepare T3010 Registered Charity Information Returns and GST/HST returns, including supporting documentation for review and filing by a Canadian-certified accountant.
- Process payroll and maintain accurate payroll records.
- Maintain organized client records and supporting financial documentation.
- Identify accounting issues, recommend practical solutions, and collaborate with internal team members to improve accounting processes and workflows.
- Manage multiple client accounts while ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines.

Requirements

- CPA designation preferred with a minimum of 5 years of Canadian accounting experience,



preferably supporting registered charities and nonprofit organizations.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting principles, nonprofit accounting practices, T3010 preparation, and GST/HST reporting.
- Proven experience with QuickBooks Online and Stripe for payment processing and reconciliations.
- Willingness to learn and use GoHighLevel (training provided).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and Google Workspace.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and independent time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple client engagements.
