Role Description The Senior Associate (General Corporate) will handle a broad range of corporate matters including drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, transaction documents and opinions. The role involves leading and supervising due diligence exercises, advise on complex queries, strategizing for corporate litigation and supporting clients on regulatory and compliance issues across various sectors.
The Senior
Associate will work closely with the Partner to develop legal strategies, prepare opinions,
advisory notes and coordinate with other practice groups when required.
Responsibilities include mentoring junior team members, managing timelines and deliverables, and maintaining strong client communication and relationship management. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai. Qualifications
Strong foundation in general corporate law including company law, contract law, securities and regulatory frameworks relevant to corporate transactions.
Experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating transaction documents such as share purchase agreements, shareholders’ agreements, JV agreements and commercial contracts.
Ability to lead legal due diligence, manage deal documentation and coordinate closing processes for M&A; and investment transactions.
Excellent legal research, analytical and written communication skills, with the ability to produce concise, well-reasoned opinions and client advisory notes.
Ability to work efficiently, handle multiple matters simultaneously and meet timelines with attention to detail and professional integrity.
LL.B. (or equivalent law degree) from a recognized institution; prior experience (3–6 years) in a reputable corporate or full-service law firm is highly preferred.
