Role

We are looking for an experienced and passionate PHP Lead to join our Engineering team and drive the design, development, and delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performance web applications. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end development lifecycle, provide technical leadership to the team, and collaborate closely with Product, Data Science, QA, DevOps, and UI/UX teams to build innovative solutions. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in PHP (Laravel/CodeIgniter), RESTful APIs, MySQL, cloud technologies, and modern software development practices.

You will be responsible for designing application architecture, reviewing code, mentoring developers, optimizing application performance, and ensuring adherence to coding standards and security best practices.

Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance web applications using PHP (Laravel/CodeIgniter).

Build, test,



and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate with third-party services.

Design efficient database schemas and optimize SQL queries for performance and scalability.

Collaborate closely with Product, UI/UX, QA, DevOps, Data Science, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical design and technology decisions.

Review code, enforce coding standards, and mentor junior developers through code reviews and technical guidance.

Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application, database, and performance-related issues.

Implement caching solutions using Redis and optimize application performance and scalability.

Develop clean, reusable, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.

Work with Git-based version control systems and CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment.

Ensure application security by implementing authentication, authorization, and secure coding practices.

Contribute to cloud deployments and infrastructure management across AWS and Azure environments.

Integrate AI/LLM services such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Azure OpenAI into enterprise applications.

Design and develop scalable applications using microservices architecture where applicable.

Build and maintain real-time application features using WebSockets and related technologies.





Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to engineering practices.

Required Skills & Experience Robust proficiency in PHP (7.x/8.x) with hands-on experience in Laravel and/or CodeIgniter.

Experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services.

Strong knowledge of MySQL/MariaDB, database design, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.

Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, and JSON.

Experience with Git, GitHub/GitLab, and modern CI/CD pipelines.

Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Azure.

Knowledge of Linux server administration and web servers such as Apache or Nginx.

Experience with Docker and containerized application deployment is preferred.

Familiarity with Redis, queue management, Composer, and unit testing frameworks.

Experience implementing OAuth/JWT authentication and integrating email services such as SMTP, SendGrid, or Amazon SES.

Exposure to modern front-end frameworks such as React or Vue.js is preferred.

Experience with microservices architecture and real-time applications using WebSockets is an added advantage.

Familiarity with AI/LLM integrations such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Azure OpenAI is preferred.

Strong understanding of software architecture, application security, and performance optimization.

Proven experience leading technical teams, conducting code reviews, mentoring developers, and driving engineering best practices.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
