The SCADA Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for end-to-end commissioning configuration validation and integration of SCADA systems for utility-scale solar and wind power projects The role ensures reliable data acquisition seamless communication between field devices and control systems and adherence to safety cybersecurity and quality standards The engineer will work closely with the Design Projects Electrical and Asset Management teams to ensure successful SCADA deployment and handover 1 SCADA System Configuration Commissioning Configure test and commission SCADA systems including RTUs PLCs data loggers gateways and communication hardware Perform point-to-point I O checks logic validation system integration testing and data flow verification Commission protocols such as Modbus IEC 60870-5-104 DNP3 OPC TCP IP RS485 Ethernet Ensure integration of SCADA systems with plant-level and central monitoring systems 2 Networking Communication Systems Configure and troubleshoot network devices switches routers fiber networks media converters Validate communication links between field equipment switchyards substations grid interface points and the control center Ensure redundancy failover and network cybersecurity compliance 3 Instrumentation Field Interface Verify installation and calibration of sensors meters weather stations and protection devices Ensure proper wiring tagging termination and panel interface for SCADA components Coordinate with site teams for field readiness prior to commissioning 4 Documentation Reporting Prepare commissioning checklists test reports protocols as-built documentation and integration diagrams Update SCADA architecture drawings network diagrams and communication schematics Provide commissioning sign-off and support handover to O M Asset Management teams 5 Vendor Stakeholder Coordination Coordinate with OEMs system integrators EPC contractors network providers and internal engineering teams Support FAT SAT technical reviews vendor evaluations and design finalization Ensure compliance with project specifications SLDC DISCOM Grid code requirements 6 Quality Safety Compliance Adhere to safety standards and permit systems during commissioning Ensure compliance with IEC standards utility interconnection guidelines cybersecurity norms and SCADA best practices Drive continuous improvement in SCADA commissioning processes
