REMOTE PROJECT MANAGER / DRAFTSPERSON – GATES & FENCING

Character Gatemakers is seeking an experienced and highly organised Remote Project Manager / Draftsperson to support our gate, fencing and light steel fabrication projects in Western Australia.

This is a work-from-home offshore position for someone who can understand technical measurements, prepare accurate drawings, organise materials and manage jobs from start to completion.

Main Responsibilities

- Prepare accurate gate, fence, balustrade and steel fabrication drawings
- Create workshop and installation drawings from site measurements, photos and sketches
- Prepare material lists, cut lists and hardware requirements
- Review each job before fabrication and identify missing information
- Confirm gate dimensions, clearances, hinges, locks, motors, tracks and guide systems
- Update job details, statuses and notes in Notion
- Coordinate customer approvals and drawing revisions
- Assist with ordering materials and monitoring deliveries
- Communicate with workshop staff, installers, suppliers and management
- Monitor job progress, deadlines and outstanding items
- Organise job photos, documents, quotations and installation information
- Help ensure jobs are ready before fabrication begins

Required Skills and Experience

- Experience in project management, drafting or fabrication coordination
- Ability to read and prepare technical and fabrication drawings
- Experience with SketchUp,



AutoCAD, DesignSpark Mechanical, SolidWorks, FreeCAD or similar software
- Valuable understanding of measurements, steel sections and fabrication methods
- Strong written and spoken English
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple jobs at the same time
- Reliable internet connection and suitable home office
- Able to work independently and communicate clearly

Preferred Experience

- Gates, fencing, balustrades or steel fabrication
- Sliding, swing, cantilever or telescopic gates
- Gate automation, motors, locks and access-control systems
- Notion, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office or project-management software
- Preparing bills of materials and production documentation

Working Arrangement

- Remote, work-from-home position
- Must be available during agreed Western Australian business hours
- Full-time or substantial part-time hours
