We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Senior Engineering Manager to lead cross-functional engineering teams in the design, development, testing, and delivery of scalable, high-quality software products.

The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of experience in software engineering, with solid exposure to engineering leadership, product development, stakeholder management, and delivery management.

The role requires a solid balance of technical understanding, people leadership, product thinking, and execution skills.

The Senior Engineering Manager will work closely with Product, Design, QA, DevOps, Business, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technology solutions and ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead, mentor, and manage multiple software engineering teams working on product development and technology initiatives.
- Define engineering goals, development practices, delivery plans, and technical priorities in alignment with organizational objectives.
- Provide technical direction and guidance to engineering teams while ensuring adherence to engineering best practices.
- Drive a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, career discussions, and development planning for engineering team members.
- Identify skill gaps and support hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and capability development initiatives.
- Lead the end-to-end software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Partner with Product Managers and business stakeholders to understand product requirements and translate them into actionable engineering plans.
- Drive roadmap execution by defining milestones, dependencies, priorities, and delivery timelines.
- Ensure engineering teams deliver features and products within agreed timelines, scope, and quality standards.
- Proactively identify delivery risks, technical dependencies, and bottlenecks and develop mitigation plans.
- Establish effective Agile/Scrum practices and ensure teams follow efficient sprint planning, execution, reviews, and retrospectives.




- Collaborate closely with Product, Business, Design, QA, DevOps, Security, and other cross-functional teams.
- Work with senior leadership to communicate engineering priorities, project progress, risks, dependencies, and resource requirements.
- Participate in roadmap planning and contribute engineering perspectives to product strategy and prioritization.
- Effectively manage expectations across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Provide regular status updates and actionable insights to leadership.
- Establish and maintain high standards for software quality, reliability, scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Ensure adequate testing practices, including unit testing, integration testing, functional testing, regression testing, and automation wherever applicable.
- Promote code reviews, documentation, coding standards, design reviews, and engineering best practices.
- Work closely with QA teams to improve test coverage and reduce production defects.
- Monitor application performance, reliability, availability, and overall system health.
- Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions for production incidents and recurring issues.
- Encourage automation and process improvements to improve engineering efficiency and product quality.
- Partner with senior engineers and architects to evaluate technical approaches and make sound technology decisions.
- Review system designs, technical proposals, architecture decisions, and implementation strategies.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, resilient, and aligned with long-term product and business objectives.
- Identify opportunities for modernization, automation, refactoring, and technical debt reduction.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and assess their applicability to the organization's technology ecosystem.
- Define and track engineering KPIs related to productivity, quality,



delivery, reliability, and team health.
- Establish effective engineering processes and continuously improve development and delivery workflows.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities while ensuring appropriate allocation of engineering resources.
- Maintain proper technical documentation, architecture documents, release notes, and operational procedures.
- Ensure compliance with organizational security, governance, and engineering standards.

Required Candidate Profile :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 8-10 years of overall experience in software engineering, with significant experience in engineering/team management.
- Proven experience managing and mentoring software engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Strong experience in product development, project execution, and technology delivery.
- Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design principles, APIs, databases, cloud technologies, and modern software development practices.
- Experience working closely with Product Managers, QA, DevOps, Design, and Business teams.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality products within timelines.
- Experience managing multiple engineering teams or a sizable engineering function.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, containerization, monitoring, and automated deployment practices.
- Experience with modern software architectures such as microservices, distributed systems, REST APIs, and event-driven systems.
- Knowledge of engineering metrics, observability, application performance monitoring, and reliability practices.
- Experience working in high-growth, product-led, or technology-driven organizations.
- Exposure to building scalable, high-availability applications and platforms.
