About the role

We're looking for a QA Engineer to own quality across our web application from individual feature testing to full release sign-off. You'll be the last line of defense before code reaches users, working closely with engineering and product to catch issues early, define what "done" actually means, and help the team ship with confidence.

A day in this role looks like

- Reviewing a new feature's spec/ticket and writing test cases before development even

finishes
- Testing a freshly merged feature across different roles/permissions and edge-case inputs
- Running a regression pass ahead of a release and signing off (or flagging blockers)
- Filing a bug with clear repro steps, then re-verifying the fix once it's deployed
- Occasionally digging into the database to confirm a data issue is a UI bug vs. a backend one

Responsibilities Test planning & execution
- Design test cases and test plans for recent features, covering happy paths, edge cases, and

negative scenarios
- Execute manual test passes across UI flows, forms, data tables, filters, and role-based

permissions
- Own end-to-end regression testing before each release and define/enforce release sign-off

criteria

Bug tracking

- Log clear, reproducible bug reports (steps to reproduce, expected vs. actual, environment,

screenshots/console logs/network traces)
- Triage and prioritize bugs with engineering and product based on severity/impact
- Re-verify fixes and close the loop before tickets are marked resolved

API & data validation
- Validate API behavior using Postman or similar tools request/response shapes, status

codes, error handling, auth/permission boundaries
- Cross-check data changes against the backend/database (via SQL) to confirm root cause

- Identify gaps in test coverage across the product and proactively propose what needs testing
- Maintain a shared test-case repository so testing isn't tribal knowledge
- Flag recurring bug patterns that point to a process or code-quality issue, not just a one-off fix

Must-have qualifications
- 1-3+ years of hands-on QA/testing experience on a web application
- Strong attention to detail and a habit of thinking in edge cases and failure modes
- Comfortable navigating web apps and browser dev tools (Network, Console,

Application/Storage tabs)
- Solid understanding of REST APIs — methods, status codes, request/response validation,

auth headers
- Working knowledge of SQL (comfortable writing SELECT/JOIN queries to verify data

independently)
- Clear written communication — bug reports and test plans that a developer or PM can act on

without back-and-forth Nice-to-have
- Experience with API testing tools beyond basics — Postman collections, environments,

scripted assertions
- Exposure to automated testing frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress) or interest in

building this out
- Familiarity with ticket trackers (Jira, Linear) and CI/CD pipelines (tests gating deploys)
- Experience owning QA for a full release cycle, not just individual tickets
- Basic scripting ability (Python/JS) for quick data checks or test utilities
