Purchase Officer / Purchase Executive
Location: Indore

About the Role
R.M. Phosphates & Chemicals Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Purchase Officer / Purchase Executive to manage procurement activities for engineering, plant maintenance, and operational requirements. The ideal candidate should have robust technical knowledge of engineering materials, vendor management, SAP, and commercial negotiations to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Purchasing
- Handle end-to-end procurement of engineering materials, plant maintenance items, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and general consumables.
- Process Purchase Requisitions (PR), Purchase Orders (PO), and Goods Receipt Notes (GRN) through SAP.
- Ensure timely procurement of materials to support uninterrupted plant operations.
Vendor Development & Management
- Identify, evaluate, develop, and maintain reliable vendors.
- Obtain quotations, perform techno-commercial comparisons, and recommend suitable suppliers.
- Build long-term supplier relationships to ensure quality, timely delivery, and competitive pricing.
Commercial Negotiation
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and commercial conditions with vendors.
- Support cost optimization initiatives through effective sourcing and supplier negotiations.
Inventory & Material Planning
- Coordinate with Stores, Maintenance, Production, and Engineering departments to ensure material availability.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in material planning to avoid shortages and excess stock.
SAP & Documentation
- Maintain procurement transactions in SAP,
including PR, PO, GRN, and vendor master records.
- Ensure complete and accurate procurement documentation as per company policies.
- Prepare procurement MIS reports and maintain purchase records.
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, commercial terms, taxation, and GST requirements.
- Maintain transparency, accountability, and adherence to company procurement procedures.
Educational Qualification
- B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
Experience
- 58 years of experience in Purchase / Procurement within Manufacturing, Chemical, Fertilizer, Cement, Steel, Engineering, or Process Industries.
