Business Overview

As an Application Production Support Engineer (APS), you will join a high-performing, multicultural team dedicated to the excellence of our Banking Platform APS. Operating within the CIB Production function. The Banking Platform APS team operates across Spain and India to provide 24/7 production support for local European applications, ensuring operational resilience and high-quality service for business lines including Banking Platform, Transversal Functions, 2S, and ALMT.

Job Responsibilities

Core Production Support:

- Provide 24/7 application production support for all business lines, specifically focusing on the Banking platform.
- Resolve incidents and respond to user requests, problems, and escalations in a timely manner.
- Independently debug and propose resolutions or workarounds for complex production issues.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and manage resulting action items to completion.
- Coordinate with application, infrastructure, vendor, and business teams to manage incidents and maintenance activities.
- Support end-of-day (EOD) and end-of-month (EOM) batch runs.
- Provide weekend, holiday, and night support as required.

Operational Resilience & Maintenance:

- Support change management processes, application releases, and IT security activities (e.g., post-security patch health checks).
- Support Disaster Recovery (DR) testing and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) activities.
- Perform and coordinate regular preventive maintenance and system monitoring/alerting.
- Manage the problem management process to ensure permanent fixes are prioritized and delivered by application teams.

Continuous Improvement & Documentation:





- Document operational procedures and contribute to the functional/technical knowledge base.
- Cross-train team members to build collective expertise.
- Analyze and challenge existing support processes to drive automation, optimization, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

- 6 years of professional experience in IT operations, system administration, or a related technical field.
- University Degree (Bachelor's) in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Proficiency in UNIX or LINUX (including navigation and scripting).
- Experience with ORACLE PL/SQL, MS SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
- Hands-on experience with Websphere, Tomcat, JBOSS, MFT, BC, IBM MQ, CFT, and sFTP.
- Proficiency in Autosys or Windows Scheduler; ITSM tools (ServiceNow); Monitoring tools (Dynatrace); and SharePoint.
- Solid technical troubleshooting and debugging skills.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

- Knowledge of JAVA/J2EE.with an understanding of payments, local clearing systems, H2H concepts/applications, and reporting.
- Technical background in web-based application support on JAVA/J2EE/TIBCO or COBOL platforms.
- Experience in database performance and SQL tuning is a significant plus.
- Prior experience specifically within application production support roles.
