Production Support & Operations

- Incident Management: Provide L1/L2 production support, troubleshoot database bottlenecks, and execute root cause analysis for performance degradation.
- Performance Tuning: Monitor system health, fine-tune query execution plans, and optimize Request Units (RU/s) in Azure Cosmos DB to manage costs.
- Disaster Recovery: Oversee backup/restore operations, geo-replication, replica sets, and failover strategies.
- Security: Manage database-level security, access controls, and encryption.
- Automation: Utilize scripting (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) for deployment, monitoring, and scaling operations.

Key Requirements & Skills

- Databases: Strong proficiency in NoSQL data structures, specifically MongoDB (Replica Sets, Sharding) and Azure Cosmos DB (Partitioning keys, Consistency models).
- Cloud Platforms: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Monitor, AKS) and/or MongoDB Atlas.
- Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with observability platforms like Dynatrace or native Azure Monitor.




- Programming/Scripting: Proficiency in at least one modern language (Node.js, Python, Java, or C#) and shell scripting.
- DevOps/CI/CD: Experience with version control and CI/CD tools such as Git, GitHub, and Azure DevOps.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical and communication skills for stakeholder management and incident resolution.

- Data Modeling: Design distributed data models tailored for Cosmos DB (Core/Mongo API) and MongoDB.
- Query Optimization: Develop and optimize complex aggregation pipelines, indexing strategies, and read/write operations.
- Integration: Work with application teams to integrate database interactions (REST APIs/Microservices) with backend languages like Node.js, Python, or Java.
