Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to manage end-to-end procurement activities, vendor sourcing, purchase order processing, inventory coordination, and import documentation. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in procurement within an FMCG or manufacturing environment, with sound knowledge of local sourcing, import processes, supplier management, and inventory control.
Key Responsibilities
Execute end-to-end procurement activities in line with company policies and procedures.
Prepare Purchase Requisitions (PRs), obtain vendor quotations, upload quotations for approval, and convert approved PRs into Purchase Orders (POs).
Coordinate Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs) with the warehouse/store after material deliveries.
Upload procurement and store-related documents into the ERP/system and follow up on supplier payments with the Finance team.
Source, evaluate, negotiate, and onboard reliable local and international suppliers.
Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure uninterrupted supply.
Prepare, monitor, and follow up on purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate procurement activities to maintain optimal stock availability.
Develop and maintain effective inventory control practices.
Review supplier quotations, invoices, and procurement documentation for accuracy and compliance.
Liaise with Production, Engineering, Maintenance, Warehouse, and other departments to understand procurement requirements.
Source and procure spare parts from local markets and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, pricing, delivery timelines, and service levels.
Coordinate with logistics providers, freight forwarders, customs agents,
and relevant stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of imported materials.
Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
Handle end-to-end import documentation, including:
Form M
PAAR
SONCAP Certificates
Commercial Invoices
Packing Lists
Bills of Lading
Certificates of Origin
Customs Clearance documentation
Monitor import shipments from supplier dispatch through customs clearance to final warehouse delivery.
Maintain accurate procurement and import documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or HND in Purchasing & Supply, Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 3–4 years' experience in procurement within an FMCG or manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and inventory control.
Positive understanding of Nigerian import regulations, customs procedures, and trade documentation.
Experience working with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Excellent negotiation, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
