We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Construction Procurement Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will oversee and manage all procurement activities related to construction projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials, equipment, and services. This role requires robust negotiation skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders to achieve project goals.
Responsibilities:
1. Procurement Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project requirements and budgetary constraints.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to achieve optimal procurement outcomes.
1. Supplier Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and vendors.
- Evaluate supplier performance and conduct regular vendor assessments to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
1. Contract Negotiation and Management:
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers and contractors.
- Review terms and conditions to mitigate risks and ensure favorable terms for the organization.
1. Budget and Cost Control:
- Monitor procurement budgets and expenditures.
- Implement cost control measures and track savings achieved through effective procurement practices.
1. Project Coordination:
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to understand project requirements and timelines.
- Coordinate procurement activities to support project milestones and deadlines.
1. Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure procurement activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.
1. Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance and support.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the procurement team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a related field. (Master’s degree preferred)
- Proven experience as a Procurement Manager or similar role in the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of construction procurement processes, including sourcing, bidding, and contract management.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and contractors.
- Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office Suite.
- Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is a plus.
